Yeah but the poor are lining up to these jobs don't you see?!?!?
In his bizarro world, the illegals came before the poor wanted those jobs the illegals are here because DEMAND is not meeting domestic SUPPLY
I wonder how much more home construction would cost without immigrant labor. Even when a licensed and bonded contractor is hired for a job, they usually swing by the local Home Depot and grab 7 or 8 guys for whatever project they're working on.
A small job like laying some kitchen tile can cost $2,000 to $3,000 doing it the "legit" way. You could go to Home Depot and find someone equally skilled to do the job for $400.

So in other words: "screw American blue collar workers, we'll bring in the poor of Latin America to do their jobs cheaper." Surely a way to win the votes of American laborers.

American voters need to stop screwing blue collar workers.
Never hire immigrants to do any work. Pay 5x-6X more and hire American.
Don't eat at restaurants with immigrants working in the kitchen.
Don't use immigrants for landscaping. And don't support businesses that do.
The first place the finger needs to be pointed is in the mirror. You can't complain about immigrants while enjoying all the benefits derived from their cheap labor.

20-25 years ago, most home construction was done without immigrant labor and somehow we managed. Landscaping, except by the affluent with large yards, was done by the homeowner or hired a teenager.
Cooks and dishwashers at restaurants in the Northeast outside the Corridor (western/northern New England, upstate NY, etc.) are mostly non-immigrant.

Thank you for pointing this out. My first job while still in high school was as a dishwasher in a Mexican restaurant and I am white and this was in CA. Of course this was before millions of illegals crossed the border taking over those jobs.
I was paid minimum wage and was quite happy as a student getting ready to go to college with that.
I think it may have helped if what Dems stood for was more evident. I'm not really sure what Hillary stood for. At least Bernie talked about real issues. If Bernie was elected President, maybe he could have solved our health care situation....that was my hope and I say this as a Conservative/Libertarian on most issues that favors UHC like something Canada or UK have.
