This is what fired up the millennial voters. A clear vision of the federal government being on the side of the common person instead of rigging the game in favor of the 1%. This is exactly the direction the Democrats should go.
Going too far left is what cost the Democrats the election. Although maybe they should nominate a socialist/communist and they will never win again.

Elizabeth Warren is a mean, nasty woman who talks down on and at those "less educated" than her. Elizabeth "Pocahontas" Warren and racist, antisemitic Keith Ellison are not like Bernie, who came off as a man of the people, as someone who actually cared about improving people's lives.

Free tuition doesn't mean that it is free, if you want to know how it works, then look at a country like Germany and see how they are able to provide free college to people in the EU.

Bernie was only popular with Democrats, and a lot of that can be attributed to the fact that his only competition was a tired, old, corrupt, status quo, unlikable hag with a grating voice that had already had her chance with the American electorate and blew it. Millennials instinctively didn't like Hillary and gathered (correctly) that she was a loser that they couldn't get behind so they defaulted to Grandpa Bernie who promised them free everything. When you are 21 years old, you don't spend a lot of time thinking about where that money is going to come from (you, when you start working after college, for one), you just hear the word "free" and climb aboard the gravy train and begin to "feel the Bern".

I find it laughable that a lot of Bernie's fan base are people who normally squawk about how the Republican party is a party of "old white guys". Hypocrites much?

On the contrary, Hillary was the preferred candidate for the Democrats, while Sanders won everytime independents voted in large numbers. He was also far more popular among republicans, which is what we see in Vermont as well, where he gets 25% of the republican vote.

75% of Sanders voters were over the age of 30 so you obviously have swallowed the mainstream media propaganda lock, stock and barrel. I think you are seriously underestimating the appeal of someone who is not a puppet of Wall Street and the big money donor class like Clinton and Trump. Voting for someone who is beholden to no one but the people and is his own man is very powerful. To vote for someone who serve the donor class who laugh at people like you behind your back is not attractive to many.

Whenever I see this woman all I see is Hillary 2.0. She may have been legitimate once but certainly not anymore

do you think Sanders is similar to people like Warren and Ellison?
I think it is obvious the country isn't leaning left, the young people and some libs were just excited about a new face (I didn't say young face) and the majority of the country didn't want Hillary to be our president. that is the answer in a nutshell

Sanders popularity showed that nominees from the Democratic Party will be handpicked by the party leaders and anyone else would not have a chance. The Democratic Party sent a clear message and it bite them in the behind!

I don't see anyone of the others like Sanders. Sanders seemed highly educated and among the few that could take that and actually apply it to real life situations. His ideas were good, but without a booming economy, there would have been no money to support what he was proposing. Add Trump to finance Sanders ideas, and it might have been a winning strategy.

He didn't propose free anything. Take the education program. He laid out exactly how he would pay for it.
