Hmm No. The GOP didn't gain full control of congress until 2014. This was 6 years after Obama was elected.

The GOP controlled the house since 2010 (also 18 out of the last 22 years), the senate since 2014. They have accounted for a lions share of all our elected officials the last 8 years but Obama's the problem? They had control of congress the past 2 years and most of the Bush administration, did they control spending, reduce deficits, any reform?

you have people on here who treat these parties like there on a blue team or a red team.

neither party gives a damn about you.

wake up.
Absolutely correct!

You absolutely did not address what I posted.

But no matter. It's clear now that the Democrats have been reduced to a handful of state chambers and governorships. This doesn't bode well in the near term.

The same people who took advantage of working class people and cut benefits and jobs are now leading the country.

The worst ran states in the country are ran by Republicans. Mines one of them!
When I read the thread title, I was sure that the OP was going to regale us with facts about how poorly those 16 states are doing economically and so forth.

I was all ready to counter with specifics about how well things are going in my Democratic-led state, but alas, the OP's thread title has absolutely nothing to do with the OP (again), so no point wasting the bandwidth.

Reality is difficult though. Stick to your Fox News and Breitbart.

Life sucks if you're an uneducated person stuck in Appalachia or the rust belt with no useful skills. Otherwise it's pretty good.

We may only have 16 governorships but I'm quite glad to be living in one of those states - rising incomes, tons of job openings, highly diversified economy, no constant attempts to erode my individual freedoms or intrude into my personal business.

I essentially stated they controlled both houses since 2014 and controlled the house for 6 years of the Obama administration in addition to most of the governorships and state legislatures for his terms.

The poster I was responding to indicated it was a lousy 8 years under Obama, if that is true the GOP also shares a good deal of the responsibility.

I'm not really going to comment on the thread but make a suggestion.

When discussing a President's time in office the word "administration" is likely a better word to use than "reign". That word has implications which don't fit with our republican (small r) form of government.

It doesn't matter, Clinton easily won the popular VOTE and the majority of American's support!

Well now that all the power is in hand, I look forward to all of the nation's problems being solved by the Republicans. Bring out the plans! Plans? Plans? Who's got the plans?
