The Republican party picked him, because he specifically took a pledge to vote for Trump if Trump won the state.

An Electoral College elector is an elected position and open to scrutiny.

Is the New York Times now dealing in Fake News? They let Suprun write an anti-Trump Op-Ed of why other electors should join him...and the NY Times didn't fact check his article that they paid him to write, which included numerous lies like Suprun being a 9-11 first responder.

I have to wonder, if all the allegations about this elector are true; why was he chosen? This can be a question for Democrats, Republicans or any Party. I briefly looked down the information on this man and saw that he is supposedly heavily in debt. It would appear that whoever chooses these electors should look a little harder before accepting just anybody. Possible that will be one of the consequences of this last election. I am also sure the Democrats are not happy with some of their selections!
