If no one hits 270, I believe the House picks the President, are they open to selecting anyone or does it come down to those who were running? Clinton, Stein, etc
The more I hear Bernie Sanders , the more I like him. The man is sensible, smart, articulate, and experienced. I wish the Democrats had fronted him, I think he would have done so much better than Hillary.
It is a long shot that the electoral college will overturn anything, but it is sure worth the try. There is growing dislike for Trump, even among some of his followers. Only the hardcore are still not seeing the light.
The electoral college was never meant to be bound to a candidate. Pro-constitutionalists would understand this.
actually the selection of electors is up to the states themselves, as is the distribution of the electors to the various candidates, and whether or not to require the electors to sign a loyalty oath. this is known as states rights.
as for the selection of the electors, the allow the parties to select their electors, and they allow the parties to require a loyalty oath, the states supply the encouragement to follow that loyalty oath by making it criminal offense to be an unfaithful elector, minor though it is.
