The point is that whether they were residing in the correct district or not, he won those states. So even if someone is an idiot and needs to keep up with this, it's irrelevant to whether he would have been voted in or not.
I suspect that nothing will come of this, but if true, it adds yet another layer of grime to this already slimy election season.
"More than 50 Electoral College members who voted for Donald Trump were ineligible to serve as presidential electors because they did not live in the congressional districts they represented or held elective office in states legally barring dual officeholders.
That stunning finding is among the conclusions of an extensive 1,000-plus page legal briefing prepared by a bipartisan nationwide legal team for members of Congress who are being urged to object to certifying the 2016 Electoral College results on Friday."
The report notes that one of those who voted illegally is Pam Biondi, the attorney general of Florida.
One would think that if anyone would know the applicable laws/rules, it would be she, but clearly, if this is true, Republicans are not above voting fraud to further their own purposes.
Can't say I'm surprised.
Well, since you are so concerned about fraud then why is it that you lefties oppose voter ID? Fraud is fraud, right? If what you say is true I'm all for a full investigation and I'm a conservative. I don't hold double standards.
For example, many of those states legally require the elector to vote for the state winner and if they refuse they are sacked and the vote is cast with the popular vote.
Can't say I am surprised....that it comes from alternet. Can majones, shareblue etc, be far behind with this....unreal news.
