That list is of mostly democratic and sanctuary city strongholds. It is of no surprise Clinton won them. That was expected. The election came down to the battle ground states and the blue wall fell. Those are the votes that swung the election. Too many people only care about what New York, California, and Illinois will vote and forget about the rest of the country. If by now it's not obvious that NY and CA. don't speak for the other 85% of the nation the democrats will continue to be a failing party. Fine by me.
Clinton got plenty of votes in the places where it ultimately didn't matter. The rules of the electoral college were known going into this election, and it made sense for the candidates to target states that were not locked into either side but had a significant population of persuadable voters for their respective parties. Trump ended up winning a handful of large, pivotal states by small margins, and Americans will likely never agree on whether it was due to his superior strategy or a confluence of good luck.
But the lesson Democrats should take from 2016 is that there is a lot more to America beyond the huge urban centers, and running a candidate and platform whose appeal doesn't extend much beyond those areas is a recipe for being locked out of power. Winning the popular vote is meaningless in an electoral sense - that doesn't translate into the presidency, or control of either chamber of Congress. Persuading a few percent of the voters in Wilkes-Barre, Green Bay, Battle Creek and Port St. Lucie would make a lot more sense than catering to the prevalent views in San Francisco, Boston, Chicago and Manhattan.
What does that have to do with the post you are quoting as it is about the margins in the 60 largest counties ???????
Everyone here knows that Trump won, the discussion isnt about that . Take the blinders off for a second.
LOL. So where's your post that addresses the topic. All I see here is "pretend moderator".
Trump did win. Only those with the blinders on seem to continue to deny that.
