He does not need to win it. He just needs to keep it close- within 5 points or so- and both the popular vote and the nomination should be his. Then we will decide what to do about Florida and Michigan.

If they add those two states back in, the delegates needed increases to 2208, I think. The number may be wrong, but those delegates don't come free.

Obama will probably lose Pennsylvania (by how large of a margin, who knows), but he'll most likely win both North Carolina and Oregon. Unless Hillary pulls off big wins and I mean BIG wins in all of the remaining primaries, she's not going get ahead.

Nope it still takes 2,025 and Obama isn't going to get that number. Neither candidate can. Neither side will give in so it is going to be decided by brokering at the convention.

She doesn't need to. The superdelegates will decide this election. Say hello to President McCain.

She is not going to pull off big enough wins anywhere to get ahead or even get any closer than she is now. The only contest now is for the popular vote so Obama can say to the convention that he has won both the delegate count as well as the popular vote which should pretty much send Hillary packing her bags and catching the next flight out of Denver. Then we will have to do the math and figure out how to count Michigan and Florida.

2208.

Dems stumped figuring Fla., Mich. into delegate equation - USATODAY.com

Quote:
There are 4,048 total delegates available, including delegates awarded proportionally through the popular vote and super delegates.

Before Florida and Michigan were punished, a Democratic candidate would have needed 2,208 delegates out of 4,414 total to secure the nomination.
