Don't judge the nation by Alabama. We are collectively smarter and much more evolved than the cretins in that state.
I live in Oklahoma, which is very similar culturally to Alabama and in fact might be worse. The thing is, a large portion of the South is like this and not everybody who doesn't want to live in a theocracy has the option to pack up and move to a blue or at least a more moderate red state.

And still people living in California -- happy.

It's not for everyone..

There are maybe five or six states I would live in -- all the rest -- meh -- no thank you. That's on me - -not the quality of life or lifestyle they offer.

Love where you live and stop trashing others...makes you look like you are over compensating for your choices -- lol. I know it isn't true but it just sounds -- bitter or resentful when folks trash other people's lifestyle choices.

If you are happy with your choice, you have little time to trash others for theirs.

Now, that would be really funny if the democrat came around and won the general election.

Poll says Democrat Doug Jones nearly tied with GOP candidates in Ala. Senate race

Sure it's good for America. Another chit-disturber in Congress, hopefully undercutting and stabbing the status quo in the back every chance he gets.

What does trading a Republican for s more conservative Republican even accomplish in the Senate? It doesn't get them any closer to passing healthcare because it isn't the conservative votes they need. The issue Republicans have is they can only lose a couple of votes and so have to be moderate enough to keep the moderate Republicans or pick up moderate Democrats on everything.

Nominated, not elected.

Just another day missed in civics class, I guess.

Yeah, sure, that is how it is going to go down. If he wins the general election, the junior senator from Alabama is going exert his experience and influence to show how the country should be run.

So I guess that we will then be have the movie Mr Moore Goes to Washington coming to a nearby theater soon?

You're fooling yourself. More moderate, establishment type Republicans, aligned with Mitch McConnell only keeps the US moving in a downward trend.

The same with Democrats.....we need progressive personalities in the mold of Cynthia McKinney to really bash the system politicians and shakeup the whole machine.

The other guy who won is enough of a backwoods rube that conservatives should be happy regardless.
