Wrong, Dems simply should stop their war against the wwc.

Return to campaigning nationally -ignoring special interest. Do not add regs to destroy coal jobs and gloat about it. Do not pander with policies for LGBT, BLM, or WWC excluively. Advocate one set of policies for ALL.

MAGA

Trump could win again. With that said, there hasn’t been a more unpopular President than Donald Trump of at this point in his first term since the inception of approval polls.

As per 538, Trump’s current poll average after 282 days in office was 41.7%.

Where were previous presidents comparatively after 282 days in office?

Obama= 59.9% or +18.2% higher than Trump
G.W. Bush= 54.1% (+12.4% higher than Trump)
Clinton= 53.4% (+11.7% higher than Trump)
G.H.W. Bush= 58.0% (16.3% higher than Trump)
Reagan= 67.6% (25.9% higher than Trump)
Carter= 62.8% (21.1% higher than Trump)
Ford= 51.0% (9.3% higher than Trump)
Nixon= 59.9% (18.2% higher than Trump)
LBJ= 74.0% (32.3% higher than Trump)
JFK= 78.0§ (36.3% higher than Trump)
Ike= 73.0% (31.3% higher than Trump)
Harry Truman= 87.0% (45.3% higher than Trump)

Those comparisons were after 282 days in office. All but one of those Presidents, Gerald Ford, had an approval edge over Trump of at least double digits.

Trump’s current approval average is even lower (37.3%),

Democrats are weaker today than at any time since the McGoverniks hijacked the party. GOP fielded 16 v Trump, Dems rely on 70 plus year old retreads (HRC, Biden , Pocahontas, etc). Dems only have 16 governors, and about 48% of DC Congress & House. That's a very weak bench.

There's a few polls where he's in the low to mid 40s.

Recall Obama's approval rating tanked into the 40s by 2012.

.
You raise an interesting point. Are Presidential approval ratings more likely to go up or go down with the passage of time?

There's only a couple instances that I can think of where a president’s approval rating improved over time; Reagan and Clinton.

It’s more common for presidential approval ratings to go down; Truman, Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Poppy Bush, Obama.

Dubya did both, climbing after 9-11 then tanking with the economy.

More often than not, familiarity breeds contempt.

It's three years away, and no one has officially announced they are running yet. You just happen to think The Cheeto is unbeatable, but people who voted from him have soured on him (only a few so far, but I expect that to pick up), and he hasn't won a single convert from my side of the aisle; I dislike him more than ever now that I've seen him in action. So just wait....

He is, on inauguration day in 2021 he will either be back in NYC or at Mar-A-Lago as a civilian....
