Not that I'm expecting it to happen.
No one expected a democrat to win alabama either. But Utah loves Romney so he's in. And Hatch wouldn't have won anyway, so it's best he retires.

Unfortunately, I don't think McCain will be around much longer because of his health. He has the same brain cancer that Beau Biden had. I find it very sad. But I do agree Graham should retire.

It's not as if he's walking away anytime soon anyway.

He has a full year left in his term, and a lot can happen in a year, as we've all seen in the events of 2017. I don't expect 2018 to be much different.

I expect the midterms will change a lot of who's in office.

not being liked: I can accept that. As I have said over and over, he really isn't liked by many I don't think, but that doesn't mean:1-people hate him and what he is doing and 2-the state would not support him again if he is the candidate in 2020. Too many here seem to mistake likability for acceptability.

and Hatch wouldn't have won anyway: where are you getting that information? do you have an inside track on how people in Utah are going to vote? BTW, yes, I am glad he is retiring. He has all he can do, is past the age most people call it quits and it is time for new blood.

I clearly said every Utah I know hates him. Actually hates him. And they’re almost all republicans too.

Most people were wanting him to retire. Like 78%

I hope Trump is primaried. I sure won’t be voting for him if he even runs in 2020. I bet a lot of other people here would be happier with a different Republican.

but what news? I read 2 daily newspapers, watch 2 cable networks and listen to the radio daily, never have I seen any mention of his not being able to win had he chosen to run again. I know a lot are glad he decided not to, including myself, but that isn't the same as saying he could not win. BTW, I do pay attention to both sides when getting my news.
