Yep, I paraphrased the article. I wanted to post this as a follow up to one of the older election threads but it seems they all have been closed.

This is something I've long noted. Doug Jones has won his last election in Alabama. So much of the party exists to do nothing but say the right things but then vote the corporate line. It is why Hillary lost. It's why the (D)'s may make short term gains but will not gain over all power again until they learn they can not beat the GOP at their own game.

I don't expect this thread to remain open either but it's an important lesson for the (D)'s to learn.

So, newly elected Democratic Senator Doug Jones, the champion of the downtrodden common people, in deep red Alabama, particularly the African American citizenry who gave him his Democratic histrionic, not to mention historic victory in a deep red state, voted for the deplorable, dirty, racist Republican banking deregulation bill.

So, now all of the banks are free to freely and regularly discriminate against African Americans. As well of course, all other identity politics folks. A wee bit of parody in the forgoing.

It is Saint Patrick's day, after all. That, we all know, racist holiday. Not even worthy of a capital H, holiday.

Is that the jist of this article?

If you actually read the article you would know this isn't the case. Some may now be able to regularly discriminate and that would have been easy to have removed from the bill if the (D)'s, specifically Jones were actually what they claim to be.

I have no clue what you are going on about.

Among other things, the legislation passed by the Senate on Wednesday strips away for some banks the requirement to report the race, ethnicity and gender of their mortgage customers.

How that is not a federal banking law applicable to all 50 states is beyond me.

What is his former opponent Roy Moore up to these days ? Wonder if he found a job at Pigly Wigly yet .
Bet he wishes Trump would have never come there to "help" him out.

He's being sued for defamation by one of the girls, so he's trying to raise some lawyer money for defense. It hasn't gone well, so he's probably scratchin' around, trying to get some money wherever he can.

He said he was 'depleted' in his last plea.

'Some banks'... well that certainly changes every transaction. Ever....

The big flaw to a lot of the late 00 moves and regulations is that they strongly favored big banks over regional and local ones. Letting the local banks deal a little more freely will help their communities as opposed to simply Wall Street and the Big Banks.

If banks/institutions really start to discriminate you will see trial lawyer and regulators in key states close in on them.

It would also shock some to discover that plenty of black (and brown) people get loans and mortgages fairly easily based on incomer, credit scores and past relationships with their lenders.
