Because apparently a majority of America has had enough of the political chaos we call the Trump administration....

Majority of Americans Don't Want Trump to Run for Re-Election, Including Nearly 20 Percent of Republicans, Poll Finds

"A majority of Americans don't want President Donald Trump to run for re-election in 2020, a new poll from YouGov found this week.

Fifty-four percent of respondents told the polling firm they didn't want the former reality television star to run again. Just 28 percent answered "yes" when asked if Trump should give it another go in 2020.

...fair number of Republicans, Trump's own party, also said they didn't want to see another campaign from the blustery billionaire. Eighteen percent said they didn't want him to run again, while 65 percent said they did want him to run again. Sixteen percent of GOP respondents answered "not sure."

you know you played a very popular and well known game when you gave us the choices. Wouldn't it have been better to simply ask if we wanted him to run again, not add to the question, do you want him to run or are have you had enough? That is why most polls are totally inaccurate or phony.

Yes, he should run again. If the Dems don't repeat the mistake they made in 2016 and nominate a candidate with less baggage, Trump will be their best chance for winning.

Trump will run but I'm not sure why he deserves to be re-elected.

Trump will run and win again in 2020. The Democrats have no viable candidate.

Kamala Harris? Even Californians won't vote for her after Cambridge Analytica does it's magic.

Even if it was true that 20% of republicans say they don't want Trump to run, he's still got them in the bag. They held their nose in 2016 and they'll do it again in 2020.

It is easy to ask a question like that in a poll when it is "Trump vs Unknown Candidate" - whether that candidate is someone challenging in the primary or whether it is the other party's nominee. We all love to imagine "the best" of who could run in that spot. Therefore, those numbers are inflated. Even if it was 20%, that's because people polled inserted THEIR personal favorite in there.

Which means the number isn't 20% (if it even was to start with) which also means nothing since the base (of both parties) just tow the line at the ballot box anyway.

Many of us may agree with you but I look at it this way: he has fulfilled a lot of what he said he would or at least has tried. For that I give him credit. I may not like him personally and I have some issues with what he has done or wants to do, but whether he runs and can get re-elected still depends on a lot of things. I truthfully do not have any idea why he would want to run again.

Not sure he will want to run in 2020. I hope he does, and if he does he will win, but he may just hands the reins to Spence or his daughter. Can't blame him.

Let's see if this prediction will come to pass :

Trump not able to even get through one term , so no reelection.

Take any top two Young politicos in the Democrat party and there is your winning combo for 2020.

Could it be something like a Joe Kennedy & Kamala Harris tag team.

Youth and diversity will seal the deal for the Dems in 2020.

Trump's election was a huge fluke -- it won't happen again. He lost the popular vote by 3 million and had to rely on very narrow wins (1% or less) in three states: Penn., Mich. and Wisc. Even with a good economy and full employment he can't get above the low 40's in the polls.

Sure, as a Democrat, I'd like to see Trump run again -- he would be an easy incumbent to beat.
