As has already been pointed out in this thread, the first two years at least will have been without a filibuster proof majority in the Senate.

A REAL victory would occur if Republicans increased their position in both houses!
Even with the "blue wave" it was unlikely the Democrats would increase seats in the Senate. There are simply too many seats to defend in "red territory" for that to have been realizable.

As for the poll, that seems to be an aberration. Doesn't make it wrong. All polls are wrong, but they sometimes tell you something. Considering most polling has Republicans trailing by 4-7 points, I'd be curious to see what the next week or two of polling will show.

If I had to draw a conclusion, I'd say that it is a good thing for both parties and for Americans to show the generic ballot tightening. For the Republicans, it shows that maybe the Blue Wave is nothing more than a ripple. For Democrats, it shows that the beast needs to wake up and not assume they are winning these seats.

Get out and vote come November.

The Republicans very likely will increase the number of seats they hold in the Senate. In the House, they are already so strong that increasing their seats there will be much more challenging. If the Republicans increase their seats un the House by even 1, then they will have almost certainly increased their position in the Senate by at least several seats, and maybe more. At that point, it will be time for the Democrats to either do some major soul-searching, or prepare to get creamed by Trump again in 2020

wow. what a flip. this reuters poll was as of 5/20/2018.
RCP shows a trend in the Republican direction, even if individual results showing Republican advantage are hard to find.
Dems hold a +3% edge; on Dec 21 it was 13 points, so the trend is clear.

As was predicted, progressive candidates are coming out of the woods everywhere. They are so convinced that Trump is easy to beat that they are running on a platform of "I am not Trump". Which ain't gonna cut it.
So a lot of people who say they would prefer a Democrat are going to say, "Yeah, but not that Democrat!" And they will vote Republican.

There are only 3 states who have poorer drinking water than California - AZ; KY; WI.

It is a flip but I am not a believer in polls. Anyway, let's hope the flip is for real. I will add,for all those who want to think the Dems will regain the house, even a guest on PBS this am said it looks good for the GOP, better than it did in Dec. She mentioned the Dems just don't seem to be gaining any momentum. Remember this comes from ultra liberal PBS.

That's irrelevant because the citizens of California do not drink tap water.

Hillary is not the face of the Democratic Party any more. Dems know that. You Repubs only hope she will be the nominee in 2020. She will not be. You better pray that some of the smart governors in this country don't run on the Democratic Party ticket. You will lose. Especially once Mueller's report comes out and Trump goes to JAIL. YAY!!!!!
