In an interview, New York congressional primary winner Ocasio-Cortez, a socialist-progressive, said that moderate Democrats and liberal progressives can work together under a Democratic "Big Tent." Compare her with Conor Lamb, a very moderate and centrist "blue dog" from western Pennsylvania. These two candidates can represent a winning formula for the Democrats: progressives in the big cities and moderate centrists in the rural areas, forming a Democratic center-left coalition. With this approach Dems it is very conceivable the Dems could win back Congress.
Better to have circus clowns than a corrupt administration with 22 indictments, the campaign manager in jail, grand juries, guilty pleas and time served.

While it is unlikely a Republican will win this seat, the fact that she is an avowed Socialist might result in more votes for a Republican challenger. Even in New York.
So whats her plan to pay for a fed job for all, free college, free health care?????? I see this as the DEM's tea party and this one actually costs taxpayers so i think it will fail harder than the actual tea party.
@Cruzincat: what we learned from Bernie Sanders' campaign is that the "socialist" label isn't the liability it used to be. Older people view socialists as "bad," falsely equating them with Marxists or communists. The younger generation doesn't see it that way. They see socialists in a good light, along the lines of social democrats in Scandinavia, Denmark and so on.
Work together? One would think so but things are so chaotic now, who knows. Will the left and the ultra left continue to fight each other? A big tent can require scrupulous maintenance. Pelosi was pretty shook up (but trying valiantly not to appear so) at her meeting with the press re the Ocasio-Cortez victory. If your job is to preserve the party you don't want to see super surprising election results like this. Part of the job is to make sure there are no surprises. That's fundamental work in itself.

I think some of that will quiet down... the aftermath of the Trump victory has stirred a backlash against not uniting in the end. ESPECIALLY with the events of the last few weeks including the recent supreme court decisions... the "There's no difference bewtten Trump and Clinton, vote Green!" folks have been taking it on the chin. Susan Sarandon needs to lay low for a minute LOL.
A lot of Democrats are NOT going to vote for her, a LOT of Republicans are going to vote against her, and nobody honestly believes in socialism, especially a financial market like New York... All the GOP has to do is blasts ads that she is a socialist and the crazy crap she has done... The Dems are pretending to support her so they won't have to waste money on her to try to keep that seat... Make them waste their money GOP...
