How many were fully against it without ever reading it as well ? Its funny how people dont see that argument going both ways.

I did go to college; but it was a long time ago. I also understand that student loans are not forgiving and the debt will follow you through life. That still does not mean that everybody will get and education that leads to a promising vocation. Heck; how many people know what promising vocations will be left in the next ten years?
I think you are still misunderstanding.

The way it works is that The government sets aside a predetermined amount of money enough for 30 people per college(for example.)

Those 30 people, must take a degree plan in say Welding or Aero space design and nothing else. Those are their only options.

What ever school they are at usually partners with a large company that guarantees graduates a job. EADS, Airbus, Austal , Boeing so and so forth. Its a pipeline program. Its a guaranteed job.

so this isnt about if the jobs are there, because they are. Its just about finishing the program.

That argument doesn't go both ways.
One party is 'for' something they have not read. It will be law of the land and may be repealed only with great effort. The people of Massachusetts have elected a senator for the express purpose of blocking this bill.

You do not see why the other party, kept ignorant of the provisions of the bill, should be against such a bill?

I never said I accepted the false premise, only that if you do, that means the Republicans are hypocrites.

You can be against passing a Bill you havent read, but Republicans were against the idea of that bill in the first place. Thats the flaw.

Obamacare came down to ideology, not if it would work.

re: Nancy Pelosi and the ACA

What she ACTUALLY said

Quote:
You’ve heard about the controversies within the bill, the process about the bill, one or the other. But I don’t know if you have heard that it is legislation for the future, not just about health care for America, but about a healthier America, where preventive care is not something that you have to pay a deductible for or out of pocket. Prevention, prevention, prevention–it’s about diet, not diabetes. It’s going to be very, very exciting.

But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.

And more analysis

Quote:
But Pelosi never said the bill was enacted in secret or under cover of night, because it wasn’t. She said it was enacted in a fog of controversy. The controversy, naturally enough, focused on the most contentious aspects of the bill rather than on the most broadly popular. Much of it was about misunderstandings or misconceptions — claims that the bill contained death panels or did nothing to restrain health care costs — rather than on the Affordable Care Act’s concrete benefits.

Once the bill was in place, Pelosi was saying, people would come to value and appreciate its contents. She was mocked for this relentlessly for years. But everything that’s happening this winter shows she was right all along.

Your hotlinked image isn't coming through. But whatever unflattering photo of Hillary Clinton you are trying to show, I guarantee there are unflattering images of Donald Trump that are just as bad or worse. It's an asinine argument to try to make.

She didn't have to say it. It most certainly was. It's why the (D)'s got their clocks cleaned in 2010.

No, unfortunately, people were stupid enough to believe GOP lies. But the facts are out there for those intelligent enough to appreciate them. It was actually the GOP who tried to shove through healthcare legislation in the dead of night without allowing Democrats to see it and debate it.

Youre wrong.

What you wanted was a public debate, televised line by line discussion of what was in the bill and while most of use would have loved for that to happen, it isnt even close to a possibility.

Everything that was in the bill was posted online before it was ever voted on by the full house. That is fact.
