That said - it's NOT Horseshoes and close doesn't count except in Horseshoes.
No question that the Democrats outspent the Republicans and had a GREAT ground game.
90% is a huge turnout .... at this point, it wasn't enough. It will be weeks before we know the certified result.

Turnout for the GOP was 50% of general election while it was 90% for dems. The Left were really desperate for that win and got denied (at this point at least) - for whatever reason, 50% of the Republicans didn't vote (or may have voted in the mail in ballots (about 5,000 of them to be counted) or even in the 3,000 or so Provisonal Ballots.

Which ever way it goes after all the votes are counted (this isn't over YET) then a WIN is a WIN for this round and round 2 is in November with the same 2 Candidates.

It's really not worth all the Drama about a "WIN is really a LOSS" ... just as it wasn't worth it in 2016.
We have lived with almost 2 years of Hysterical Meltdown over that business and Normal People are FED-UP with the nonsense.
I don’t see any drama in this thread. And I haven’t seen a 2 year meltdown. What I see is republicans constantly posting about Hillary here...obsessed much lol

You have to understand, they're just practicing for what they know is inevitable in 2020 when their spin at President Trump's re-election will be "meh, only four more years so we're at the halfway point of being rid of him".

It's reality, not spinning. Solid red district in 2016 becomes a razor thin toss-up in 2018. The trend is obvious.

He still has a lot of power in that district ..... and is almost certain to primary President Trump in 2020.
So your thinking that Kasich can push O'Connor over the finish line in November when they rerun the race?

I dont think you can call it a win if they didn't win the seat. However, the fact a district like this was this close is a good sign for Democrats as we look to November.

The Democrats chances for November will generally be decided by seats Republicans hold that Trump lost or won by a close margin, not long term GOP seats he won by 11 points.

It’s an absolute win for democrats when they never had a chance of winning this seat. Yet they was only 1 percentage point between the 2 candidates

I'm a liberal and wanted the Democrats to pick up the seat and disappointed it appears they will not. I also understand that the Democrats path to taking the House in November is not going to come down to if they can flip a district like OH-12

Seeing how the Clinton News Network operates, its clear why our president correct refers to them as #FakeNews. Hours after other orgs had called the race for the GOP, the Clinton News Network still said it was "too close to call"

When they came to the realization, they simply stopped talking about the race and went onto other races

What a disgrace and shame of a "news" agency.

O'Connor just needs to get up in the morning and start working on how he can flip the district in November. Not a huge difference to make up but not a lot of time to figure out how to do it. Democrats may flow some $ into the race but will the Republicans?
