From the little I read the loser was out of state, wealthy, transplant who rubbed many long-time residents the wrong way----saw him as symbol of all they view as going wrong with their state where regular people are being squeezed out by wealthy "land grabbers" who are true reflections of the state...

Local elections are won or lost by people who understand local politics and people
We saw that with Connor Lamb and I hope we see it with Beto O'Rourke in TX and the TN governor's race where a 2 time Democratic govenor is running for Bob Corker's Senate seat against a woman GOP who seems not to recognize how to run a state-wide election campaign
