Why have they refused to produce data on how many ballots were sent out and where they were sent?
Early & vote by mail reports, updated daily by the early vote (when that was occurring). Absentee vote broken out by what has been received by each county and what sent out, but not yet returned (overseas absentees can be returned until the 16th)
What is funny is that these "recount" laws were passed under the Republican Legislature since the 2000 election debacle and under Rick Scott's tenure as Governor for the past 8 years.
Republicans have been in control of Florida's Government for the past 20 years!!! and they are blaming the Dems for this?
They are following the laws they implemented!
I know. Its rich.
Scott is shrieking Nelson is stealing the elections, but Nelson is not doing anything. GOP own laws mandate them to re-count.
We don't have time for that. We are too busy planning a revolution.
All we want is a verified, accurate count. If the shoe were on the other foot, and if Trump said there was voter fraud, you guys would be all over it.
Florida law requires a machine recount if the vote tally of the two candidates is within one half a percentage point of each other.
Florida law requires a hand recount if the vote tally of two candidates is within one quarter a percent of one another.
The GOP can ***** and whine all it wants. What's going on right now is observance of law. I think these very laws were passed by a republican legislature.
Bill Nelson absolutely shouldn't concede until the hand recount (which seems inevitable in his case) has been thoroughly conducted. Twelve thousand votes out of more than eight million cast isn't that many. Its a lot fewer than 30,000 votes in Arizona and I notice the republican still hasn't conceded there.
Rubio is basically saying he loves a guy who committed some of the largest white collar frauds in history - and that he loves him so much that he doesn't want free and fair elections.
That's a two-fer.
This is a new low for Rubio. I'm certain many of his constituents aren't going to like this. Americans, even Floridians, seem to believe in basic fairness.
Heck, I remember Republicans going NUTS in 2000 in FL when some overseas votes came in way past the deadline. They wanted them all counted even though they weren't legal. Some were postmarked after election day - yet they wanted them all counted.
Now they don't want provisionals and mail-ins counted? Or rejected ballots recounted? That's crazy. But, of course, the GOP tends to deal in ultimate hypocrisy. The Ends if Always worth any means.
Please read the United States Constitution, Article IV, Section 4:
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,..."
The United States is not and never has been a democracy. In fact, the Founding Fathers hated democracy just as they hated monarchy!
IF election irregularities occurred in Florida, such irregularities should be exposed to the light of day, and the perpetrators prosecuted to the fullest extent of existing law(s), regardless of political party.
Ignore the partisan politics, and just ENFORCE THE LAW(S)!
