Court orders FL to release ballot records by 7PM ET Friday. It's now 7:20PM Eastern, FL still refusing to release them
Welcome to the Banana Republic of Broward County.
Just heard on TV that Brenda Sipes of Broward County Election Board, has once again refused to release records on how many ballots were sent to each precinct, how many were sent back unused (blank), and how many were voted.
It's information that every county routinely counts as the election goes on. And once the polls close, the information can be compiled and reported in about 10 minutes.
Every county in Florida has done that. Except Broward County, which continues to refuse despite court orders and a State Constitutional requirement, even three days after the election.
And they keep mysteriously finding more and more ballots. And the votes for Democrats keep going up and up, long after counting should be finished.
I try not to go all tinfoil hat, but you've gotta wonder in instances like this. Based on election night results from the time the polls closed, to now, are we really expected to believe that nearly 40,000 Democrat votes were/are still floating around? At least that's what I remember - a difference of something like 48,000-ish in favor of Scott. Now they're saying there's only a 5,000 vote difference? Seems hinky.
They don’t need to release anything until they’ve stuffed enough ballots to push Democrats over the line just like the Republicans did Bush there in 2000.
