Texas has not elected a Dem senator since 1988. He came within 2 points of beating Ted Cruz in a state where many will not even CONSIDER selecting a Dem candidate.
It is true that O'Rourke doesn't have a lot of real world experience, and on top of that, has a BA degree in English.

From what little we have seen of the guy though, he has a logical world view. Jury is still out, we'll see what else he has to say.

With the Greatest Generation dead and gone, let's face it folks the pickings are slim.

WSJ reported yesterday that Mr. O’Rourke is planning a road trip around the country.

“Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D) is planning a road trip outside his home state of Texas as he weighs whether to run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, according to The Wall Street Journal.

O’Rourke is calling on his aides to plan for him a solo trip that’ll begin in El Paso, which he represented in Congress for six years, and include stops outside of the Lone Star State to places such as community colleges, the Journal reported, citing people familiar with the plans.”

It will be interesting to see how he is received.

Let's see if he makes the trip in his built-in-TX Toyota Tundra.

Beat-It is another empty suit, which is why he'd be the perfect VP candidate when the other empty suit Gavin Newsom runs for President in 2024. Of course, chances are good that Newsom will be recalled as governor if he implements his far left wing policies, i.e. free health care for everyone who can get here, paid six month leave for women who have given birth. Businesses will be fleeing the state even faster now.

So what you are saying is that he might lead to hundreds of thousands of Californians having job transfers to Salt Lake City, Pheonix and the Texas metros... winning!!!

Where did you get your information? From what I could find on the internet, I did not get the impression that he comes from an especially wealthy family. No indication of "trust funded it off his family", although his wife has a trust fund which comprises much of the couple's net worth. No mention of "community organizing"; he returned to El Paso and started an internet services company. Then City Council and finally US House.

I do think he is a little green to be running for President. I would feel better if he had a few years in the Senate or state government. Right now we're reaping the consequences of electing someone with no idea how government works.

Robert Francis O'Rourke (who goes by "Beto" for some reason) is a moron.

Sounds like someone we just had in the White House not too long ago who also was a community organizer. And we damned sure don't need another one to run our country (into the ground). O'Rogue is just another left-wing phony.
