He better hurry if he wants some traction. Otherwise the MSM is going to pull out all stops for Harris and his days will be done. Remember, its the MSM and Establishment elite who pick the Democrat nominee, not the voters.

They did this with Obama and then, did it again with Hillary.

Default Beto to make decision by end of this month-leaning toward a run

Beto was interviewed by Oprah on Tuesday 2/5, scheduled to air 2/16.

Beto is.... leaning toward a run and would make a final decision by the end of the month.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...=.f9d163e94738

“Can I be part of bringing people together in a deeply divided country around things we agree are common — can we have a common conception on what it is to be American?” he said at another point. “I think about our politics, the way that we run campaigns, the way that we connect with each other. . . . If I can play some role in helping the country to do that, by God I’m going to do it.”

“By God, when are you going to know the answer?” Winfrey said.

“Really soon,” O’Rourke responded. “Before the end of this month.”

I hope he runs. As long as he supports Medicare for all he'll have my vote.

He lost to a very unpopular candidate in his home state and now is considering running for President?

Just because he lost a close race running as a Democrat in a red state doesn't mean he won't have a chance running for president as a Democrat. I say go for it.

He's a smart and likable guy.

I don't know where he stands on everything, I've gotta research.

But if he's closer to the socialism spectrum of the left, that some Democrats are screaming about lately, he won't stand a chance in a general election nationwide.

He's left-wing for Texas but center left nationally. Given the emotion among the white evangelicals in the 2018 midterm in response to the Kavanaugh situation, he didn't stand a chance in Texas. However 2020 will be different and the US isn't Texas. He's young and is able to energize the youth, something Hillary Clinton couldn't do. I think he's one of the strongest contenders currently in the field. There's a reason Republicans fear him.

My fear is the Dems will nominate somebody unlikable or too polarizing and mess this up. The 2020 election is pretty much there for the taking.

Cruz unpopular in Texas?
That's some crazy talk, right there.

The reason why Beto can consider running for President is because he scared Cruz pale and terrified the Texas Republicans by out-raising them by millions of small donatations. O'Roarke raised $80 million against Cruz, who only raised $46 million.

That election was presumed to be a walk-away for Cruz.

Beto came out of nowhere, and came within a cat's whisker of taking a seat that has been solidly conservative for 40 years.
No one, especially the Republicans, thought the Texas race would be fought so hard and expensively. It is the most money that has ever been spent on any Senate race in history.

Here's the most important takeaway: Beto didn't come so close because of his nickname.

He won over everyone, including the Hispanics running against a Hispanic, with his easy charm, bright disposition, bi-lingual fluency, and his positions on matters that are really important to Texans. Playing the bass in a cool rock band didn't hurt him any either. Nor did his voting record in the House.

But all that is only Texas. Winning the Presidency is a completely different job. Consideration is needed.

Anybody's guess is as good as any other until he announces.
