O’Rourke, wearing a white button-down shirt and white Penn State ballcap, tied his visit to a college campus in Centre County, a left-leaning but competitive county, as part of his pledge to campaign in all corners of the country and to “show up everywhere.”
...one attendant asked, “When are we going to get an actual policy from you instead of platitudes and nice stories?” . O’Rourke pointed to support for legalizing marijuana and a Medicare buy-in program proposed by fellow Democrats in Congress.
Beto O’Rourke is the Democratic front-runner today because he stands for nothing. In the first 24 hours of his presidential race, the former congressman from El Paso raised $6.1 million. That’s a record haul, and to date, it is the most meaningful objective measure of support in the crowded Democratic primary field. Polls this early measure only name recognition. Beto is the front-runner. The question is why. The answer is bleak.
“While campaigning in Iowa on Friday and over the weekend, O’Rourke backed away from his previous support for Bernie Sanders’ single-payer bill. The former Senate candidate told an audience that he was “no longer sure” it was “the fastest way” to achieve “guaranteed, high-quality universal health care for all.” Instead, he talked up another piece of legislation currently kicking around Congress known as “Medicare for America.””
Link to the proposal for “Medicare for America” here:
“Medicare for America achieves universal coverage while preserving quality employer-sponsored insurance for those who have it and are satisfied. Americans who are uninsured or do not have employer-sponsored insurance—including those on the individual market—would be auto-enrolled into Medicare for America.”

Beto is out asking voters at these small rallies what their concerns are. This is a good way to learn what the American people want in their candidate, I think. Some candidates have lots of positions, but I don’t always like what they have to say. Beto has political talent and charisma. He’s young and energetic, something Trump surely is not.
Mostly, I think many, if not most Dems, want to get rid of Trump. It will take a candidate with political ability and mass appeal. Seems like Beto may have that. I believe Trump is afraid of Beto, and maybe he should be.

Quite the concept, that.
Waiting to see what people are concerned about before deciding what policies should be emphasized.
Generally, politicians seem to decide what’s good for us first and we have to decide whether to take it or leave it.

So when is he going to go to a midwest manufacturing factory, in one of those states that Hillary lost, and ask those manufacturing workers how they like his plans to open the borders to illegals and globalize their jobs over seas?

I'm guessing he won't be doing to those places.
I'm guessing you are underestimating Beto.
What happens if Beto never asks those questions of yours to the manufacturing workers?
What happens if they ask him those questions and agree with his answers?
I'm pretty sure we're both just idly guessing according to nothing but our own personal likes and dislikes. I'm pretty sure Beto will prove either of us right or wrong in time.
But when either of us sets up the scenario, I doubt Beto will follow it.
