Based on the results of the last presidential election, people have already proven that they don't care about these sorts of issues.

I wouldn't count on anything like this to torpedo O'Rourke's candidacy.

I think Individual 1 supporters like a good reality junk show. It's telling since they elected the most radical unhinged president in history. They certainly elected their Celebrity Apprentice. He stays in the news based on his negative rhetoric AND polices. Beto is turning out people from all walks of life including young, minorities, LGBT and the Never Trump GOP.

Today some D candidates announced their first quarter 2019 donation totals. Harris and Saunders so far. Did Beto's campaign make this announcement yet?

Beto endorses reparations:
Quote:
NEW YORK — Beto O'Rourke had just finished speaking about racial injustice to the National Action Network when the Rev. Al Sharpton, its president, pushed him to say a little more.
“Your fellow Texan, Sheila Jackson Lee, has proposed a commission to study reparations,” Sharpton said. “If that passes, and you are president of the United States, would you sign that bill?”
O'Rourke, who had spent 15 minutes talking about how white America left black America behind, didn't hesitate. “Yes,” he said, to applause and a few surprised cheers. “Until all Americans understand that civil rights are not just those victories that I began with at the outset of my comments, but the injustices that continue to be visited on people, we will never get the change that we need to live up to the promise of this country.”

You'd think this would kill his chances, given the extreme unpopularity of reparations with most voters, but then most of the Democratic candidates are coming in favor of them...

There are lots of ways reparations could be delivered. Not all of them directly involve money or would have much impact on the nation's budget.

That's a pretty impressive figure.

Especially considering his late start.

But it's still a long way to the finish line.

It's very early yet in the process.

Mayor Pete is so sensible--shocking for a politician!!! Sure would like to see him be the nominee. He's the complete opposite of Trump, thankfully.
