The GOP is terrified of Beto, as Cruz was when he asked Trump (the guy who insulted him and his family) to come help him get votes.

O'Rourke did raise a lot of money not using PACs, his own money or any large corporate donors. Remind you of anyone? Sounds a lot like Obama's first campaign. Charismatic and popular over many age groups and demographics with a lot of people donating small amounts. That candidate does not come along every day. (The GOP knows this too).

True dat. They wouldn’t be making fun of and misspelling his name so much if they weren’t threatened by him.

Lawl. It costs $100 to incorporate a company. What software did they release and profit from? You guys have very very low standards unless you are talking about Trump.

As far as the hapless community agitator is concerned, I know his history, and I said he did bring more to the table. Beta is no where close to even to that very limited career.

I agree with this. If Beto runs, he'd be very popular and would appeal to a large swath of Americans.

The idea that he is "unimpressive" is funny to me considering the current POTUS that many of you complaining about voted for. He is literally a "spoiled little rich kid" who still acts like a kid and who is still spoiled and on top of that is an a$$hole. Another spoiled little rich kid, who knows how to speak and appeal to the masses, isn't a perv or serial cheater or triple divorcee/sleeping with porn stars (probably STD having) sorta guy who actually pulled out a huge amount of support is an overly conservative state - is one of the best candidates to give Trump a run for his money. Beto also has no baggage like Clinton did that Trump can make catch phrases about and isn't a woman so Trump cannot go into one of his misogynoir tantrums against him.

I hope Beto does run. He'd be a breath of fresh air, which is what many Americans viewed Obama as over old fogey HRC and McCain in 2007/2008.

That is why Sanders and Biden are not going to win--they are too old. It's time for some new young blood. I also like Joe Kennedy--he's smart, very articulate, easy going, experienced and younger than what we've got.

Not hard to spell, but it's not his name - I believe it is "Robert Francis O'Rourke". Get it right for once.

A software company? Did his BA in Communications give him that expertise? Sounded more like a website company any 12 year old could start.

What? W was given shares in the baseball team because his daddy was POTUS.

The team needed to condemn property by eminent domain to build their stadium. They took an old woman's house for the parking lot.

He parlayed the team spokesperson to the governor's mansion. The governor of Texas does not do jack. The Lt gov and the speaker run the state.

There was never any doubt about Beto's chances.

His coat tails were long enough for every Republican judge in Harris County Texas to be defeated. And that's saying a lot. And Congressman Culberson was defeated by a female.

The enthusiasm for him got the vote out.

Some of us learned our lesson. It did work pretty well, after all. Twice. And the first guy who taught it to us is still the most popular man in the United States 2 years later.
