This sure doesn't bode well for the GOP in the NEXT election:
"Midterm elections: Democrats lead popular vote in House by largest margin in history
Democrats are set to pull off the largest midterm elections victory in history, according to a breakdown of the popular vote in races for the House of Representatives.
The party leads the Republicans by more than 8.9 million votes across the US, raw data compiled by the Cook Political Report, an independent, non-partisan political analysis website.
Previously, the largest margin of victory was 8.7 million, which came in the 1974 midterm elections after the Watergate scandal and Richard Nixon’s resignation..."
The last time I checked, members of the House of Representatives were elected by the voters in their local districts and not by the voters across all of the United States.
AOC won her election in New York's 14 district with 77.9% of the votes. SJL won her seat in Texas' 18 district with 75.2% of the votes.
Mass turnout of Democrats in Democratic districts does not equate to doom and gloom for Republicans nationwide.

Ah, but the PRESIDENT is elected by that "Mass".
And in years where a sitting President loses the election, how does his party do overall?
The President is elected by the Electoral College, not by the popular vote.
True enough but when the popular vote difference is record-breaking, odds are pretty darned good that the electoral vote will follow.
No guarantees of course, but definitely NOT a good sign for the GOP.

This argument doesnt work when 317 districts all showed a more democratic shift.
