Above video is security cam video of 'ballot harvesting.' A woman is going from door to door, offering to collect and deliver ballots,

Quote:
woman who identifies herself to a California resident as Lulu is seen knocking on someone’s door and offering to deliver their absentee ballot, but “only to, like, people who are supporting the Democratic Party.”
Paul Ryan cites this in an interview with the WAPO. This is an article discussing the interview, and expanding on Ryan's points.
Paul Ryan Is Right: California's Election Laws Are Vulnerable To Fraud

Quote:
California just defies logic to me,” Ryan said about the Golden State’s election results. “We were only down 26 seats the night of the election, and three weeks later, we lost basically every California contested race. This election system they have — I can’t begin to understand what ‘ballot harvesting’ is.”
The article lists six practices, legal under CA law, but lax at best, including 'ballot harvesting.' Also, according to the article, "Virtually everyone who interacts with the state’s DMV gets automatically registered to vote under California’s Motor Voter program, but this program is riddled with errors...." It cites an LA Times story that found 23,000 voters had been "incorrectly registered" by the DMV.

ballot harvesting is legal in every single state; Its literally just going around and asking voters who you believe will support your candidates to fill out their ballot and make sure they turn it in.

What exactly do you think is illegal or wrong about that ?

Ballot harvesting is collecting mail-in ballots from people who have not sent them in and delivering them to the polls for the person. There is nothing wrong with it. Ballots are verified by signature not by who turns them in. The Rs don't like it, of course, because it increases voter participation which never works in their favor. The R legislature in my state outlawed it a couple years ago. They still lost. They need ideas that appeal to a changing demographic not voter suppression.

He should spend some time investigating all the voter suppression efforts that have been undertaken in his home state of Wisconsin.

Your state seems to specifically outlaw taking it to the polling place, but not placing it in the mail box itself. so technically Ballot harvesting is still legal there as well. However outlawing the free delivery of mail based on a non compete clause with the Post office is B.S.

For pity's sake, I posted a link, and a brief description. Where is the fail? Only fail I see is your waste of a post, that added nothing to the discussion. No facts, no insight, no knowledge...nothing.

Arizona allows voters to submit absentee ballots by mail or in person. The challenged law, enacted this year, barred letting others collect the ballots, with exceptions for family members and caregivers. According to officials in Arizona, there are similar laws in 26 other states and nearly identical ones in “14 other states that make mass ballot collection in some form a felony.”
There are problems that should be obvious. It opens the door for vote buying. As far as I can find out, there are no 'chain of custody' controls, and no recourse for the voter if the ballot is not delivered. What is to stop Republicans from collecting ballots of suspected Democrats and throwing them in the trash?

For me it does not pass the sniff test. YMMV.

I don't know because that is exactly what they did in North Carolina.
