The stupid voter ID amendment that was voted on excluded absentee ballots. When the general assembly convened after the election, absentee ballots was included in the law because of this mess. The law will be thrown out.

When your own adult children warn you not to get involved with a dubious character, you'd think you might take their advice. But nooo... Rev Markie thought he could buy victory for $115,000. How convenient two minor strokes clouded his memory ...or did the Devil make him do it?

He ought to walk into a Catholic Church and plant himself in a confessional booth with a priest, to regain any small shred of credibility he has left. But maybe that ship has sailed! Anyone who would vote for him at this point, should have their head examined and would be a "living shill" for stupidity.

Hopefully, after the new election, a "D" will replace an "R" in the 9th district. Amen to that!

Um, yes it has, people are testifying to it. Are you saying Dowless himself has to admit to wrong doing for it to be proven ??????

I actually felt sorry for Mark Harris.

His own son blew up his father's career by testifying Harris hired a shady campaign operative despite his son's warnings. And then testified that his warnings proved true when the young man found direct evidence that operative had definitely broken the law tampering with write-in ballots.

Harris' son is a county prosecuting attorney, so he's a sworn government officer of the law, and as such was compelled to testify in front of his father in court, giving evidence against him.

Seeing an obviously beloved son humiliate his father so publicly with evidence so damning was the saddest thing I've seen on TV in years.

It goes to show that hubris is often punished, but this hubris was exceptionally brutal. Once Harris realized his arrogance had just wrecked his reputation, killed any chances of winning a recounted re-election, and forced his son to humiliate him in public, nation-wide, it's no wonder he broke out in tears.

The results of the tainted election were very close; only 90 votes between him and his opponent, but he was the winner. If the re-count had not been tainted by this ballot tampering, he could have become the declared winner. With such a narrow margin, the re-count was mandatory.

That operative who did the tampering must have known the count was going to be close and the ballot counters would be on the lookout for any signs of tampering, but he did it anyway, and he'll probably face felony charges for it.

Now, Harris might not even be verified as a candidate for the upcoming re-election. The local Republican Central Committee will have to find some other person to run against the Democrat.

That would mean Harris will lose the same election twice that he could have won once.

It won't help Harris when the law was thrown out. The new election is set for only 6 weeks away, but the law was in effect when the tampering happened.

Of course absentees were excluded, since more of those are R voters.

It doesn’t take much brains to figure out the purpose of the law is to make it harder for D constituencies to vote.

They wouldn’t be having a new election if it wasn’t sufficiently proven.

Seems like there is plenty of evidence but I guess your point is no one was indicted yet, you should take note that this was even criticized by republicans. Voter ID wouldn't solve this problem but isn't it strange that the republicans never seem to address the absentee balloting process.

If the NCBOE DOES certify the election, Pelosi isn't IMO, going to seat him. They are going to demand a new election in any case. That is the US House's Constitutional right. So as I said, the event in Raleigh is nothing but a dog and pony show.
There is no need to worry what Nancy is going to do- NC is basically throwing this election out. It will never hit Nancy's desk. And I cannot fathom why hearings/investigations that showed actual voter fraud are being characterized as a dog and pony show. There was sufficient evidence for Rs, Dems and independents to agree this election was tainted and toss it out. The fact that action is being taken immediately raises it past dog and pony show.

To reiterate- a Harris win being certified by NC and forwarded the US House is as likely as the two brothers in Chicago being convicted of assaulting Smollet... quit rushing to judgment...
