First, a little bit of background. Republican Mark Harris supposedly beat Democrat Dan McCready by 905 votes out of more than 280,000 cast. A very narrow victory indeed.
Except, it has now emerged that a convicted felon who was once a GOP government official was leading an operation to make ballots disappear. There is even a sworn affidavit from one of the participants. This turn of event is serious enough that the North Carolina Election Board's nine members have refused to certify the result pending an investigation.
As investigators continue to figure out what exactly transpired on Election Day in North Carolina’s 9th congressional district — where Republican candidate Mark Harris increasingly appears to be the beneficiary of one of the largest cases of election fraud in U.S. history.
On Monday, local television station WSOCTV caught up with Ginger Eason, one of the canvassers whose signature frequently appeared on accepted absentee ballots as a witness. She told a reporter that she was paid between $75 and $100 per week by Dowless to pick up absentee ballots from around Bladen County. “I was helping McCrae pick up ballots,” Eason told the network. Eason also admitted to not mailing in the absentee ballots she collected. Instead, she delivered them directly to Dowless.
Thus far, there is evidence of tampering with absentee ballots in Bladen County, a large rural county in the southeast corner of the state. One woman recounted in a sworn affidavit that a woman had collected her absentee ballot before it was sealed in its envelope; another voter also recalled in an affidavit a woman picking up her ballot. In North Carolina, it is illegal for anyone but the voter to turn in his or her absentee ballot. Some affidavits fingered a local Republican operator, Leslie McCrae Dowless Jr., who worked on behalf of the Harris campaign, according to the Charlotte Observer. The Washington Postreported Monday that according to one sworn affidavit from a former friend of Dowless, “he oversaw a crew of workers who collected absentee ballots from voters and updated the Harris campaign on the numbers.”

Not in the least surprised! GOP=CORRUPTION & COVER-UP!
So when Republicans harvest ballots its fraud, but when Democrats do it, its the will of the people....funny how that works.
