I say he goes nowhere fast just like some of the GOP early stars in 2016. In fact I see none of the above doing much. Probably Trump, baring any impeachment or other serious trouble, will pull it off, but maybe he will decide not to run. Then we are looking at a whole new ballgame.

Ideally middle America should care about stuff like healthcare and social security and retirement and upward mobility. However, in our culture war era everyone is distracted by issues like immigration, abortion, guns, religion, and gay marriage.

Apparently, Trump will lose when it's an unidentified Democrat, but as soon as you plug in an actual person he wins

This ticket would never win. Biden's so old, thought has to be given to who would step into the presidency if something happened to him. And there is no way Beto would be the one voters would want for that job.

Didn't know much about Beto until very recently. But if the Democrats have any chance, I'd say he needs to be on the top of the ticket. Why? Biden is too old. Beto is far more likeable. Beto has a lot more energy.

The election of 2020 will be all about the Millennials and Gen Z, and Joe Biden is simply not going to draw that vote, at least with any enthusiasm.
Beto's inexperienced and crooked. "Likeable" won't cut it this time.

I'm hoping Trump will pick nikki Haley for his running mate in 2020.
