Why does McCain always have his wife standing next to him? (vote, generation)

I like some things about John McCain but I find some of the things about him to be kind of scary. For one his always travels with his wife and she is always standing next to him when he speaks trying to look pretty (which she is for her age). She always tries to look interested in what John is saying but because he is doing all the talking it makes her look ill at ease.

What do you make of her and the fact that she is always standing next to him?

Maybe she is there to make sure he keeps it in his pants, unlike a lot of other politians.

Maybe she is there to be supportive? Maybe she is there to soften his image? Who knows, but I don't think its that big of a deal...

I think he’s sending a message that “she” if anyone supports him. Also it might make him look “younger” ~ people thinking that he’s not as old as he is (or looks). And the last reason for her being there is there’s a 2 for 1 special on hotel packages.

Maybe he is proud to have such an attractive well dressed wife and likes to show her off or maybe she likes to show off or maybe they are inseperable or maybe she is protective and devoted... maybe it is what that generation does (stand by her man). Who cares anyway... I like to see what she is wearing anyway and her latest hairstyle. I wonder why Hillary doesn't have Bill standing next to her or why Obama doesn't have Michelle standing next to him?

She is a RN. She will always be by his side in case a medical emergency occurs. Don't want anything like a heart attack or something while on the road.
