Joe Biden has come out against the Supreme Court's Heller ruling, which gives individuals the right to keep and bear arms. Of course the other candidates will now be asked about this too. If Biden is against it, which of these candidates could possibly be for it.
During a town hall style interview with WMUR 9 Friday, former Vice President and 2020 Democrat Presidential Candidate Joe Biden came out against the Supreme Court's ruling on District of Columbia v. Heller.
“Do you agree with the DC vs Heller decision in regards to protecting the individual right to bear arms that are in common use and which are utilized for lawful purposes?” Biden was asked.
“The answer is," Biden said. "If I were on the Court I wouldn’t make the same ruling. Okay?"
The Heller ruling, which was decided 5-4, confirmed the individual right to keep and bear arms is protected by the Second Amendment.
The Democrats want to confiscate your guns. Period.
Eric Holder has a message for the Democrats, certainly including the candidates running for president. Democrats "have to understand' that 'borders mean something'.
"The emphasis there was on people who had criminal records, people who posed a danger, a public safety risk," Holder, who served under former President Obama, said of the previous administration's policy in a CNN interview released Saturday. "Democrats have to understand that ... borders mean something," he added.
Holder expressed disagreement with a proposal embraced by some Democratic presidential candidates to make illegally entering the U.S. a civil offense rather than a criminal offense. "No, I don't think that's right," he said. "The law that is on the books has been there for about 100 years or so."
"It might send the wrong signal. But it would certainly take a tool away from the Justice Department that it might to use," Holder added.
I have a close friend in a position of moderate power who mentioned what to me is a nightmare scenario; that Michelle Obama is nominated at the last minute, in defiance of Democratic Party rules on primaries.
Ted Cruz says that Donald Trump has broken the Democrat party.
Cruz also stated that the Democrat candidates policy proposals are "designed to resonate in the faculty lounges at an Ivy League college" and then challenged the Democrats to find one working American who supports their agenda.
It will be interesting to see if they can find one. Go get'em Ted!
"If you look at Thursday night, the entire night of the debate, not a single Democrat talked about jobs, not a single Democrat talked about the economy, about the fact that we've got the lowest African American unemployment ever recorded, the lowest Hispanic unemployment ever recorded," Cruz said.
"Instead what the Democrats told the American people is they want to raise your taxes, they want to triple the price you pay for a gallon of gas at the pump, they want open borders, they want to take away your health insurance and they want to take away your guns," the Texas senator continued.
Cruz asserted the Democratic candidates' policy proposals are "designed to resonate in the faculty lounges at an Ivy League college" and challenged Stephanopoulos to find one working American who supports their agenda.
"I think Donald Trump has broken the Democratic party," Cruz said. "They are defined now just by hating him. They ought to be the party of jobs. They used to be a party focused on jobs, they're not anymore."
Andrew Yang introducing some sense into the Democrat primary contest with regards to "Cancel culture" and the need to stop being so excessively punitive and vindictive about remarks that people find offensive.
“Shane – I prefer comedy that makes people think and doesn’t take cheap shots. But I’m happy to sit down and talk with you if you’d like,” Yang responded to Gillis.
Yang responded, however, by promoting a message of forgiveness over calling for punishment. Yang appeared on CNN with Jake Tapper where he said the tweets were racist, but that he is upset with how punitive the country has become.
“I believe that our country has become excessively punitive and vindictive about remarks that people find offensive or racist and that we need to try and move beyond that if we can,” Yang said.
