The degree that these people insert themselves into these contests to try to affect the outcome and make themselves part of the story is really quite remarkable. Bernie Sanders got the shaft in no uncertain terms from a very corrupt DNC in 2016. And now it appears that they are going after him again.

I get it that many of these "journalists" and the leaders of their media organizations are extreme narcissists who are arrogant to a degree that is pretty close to off the scale. They believe that it is up to them to pick the winners and losers, to help the candidates they like and try to hamstring the ones that they do not like.

Did these people not learn anything from the 2016 primary contest debacle and the resentment and lack of trust that fiasco engendered? And now, they are doing it again.

This kind of interference could well serve to help Sanders and his campaign going forward. Do not be surprised if it does.
I actually agree with the conclusion though, it’s going to come down to Biden or Warren.

Warren is further ahead of Bernie in Iowa.

Warren takes the lead in the most recent Iowa poll and also the RCP poll average in Iowa. Meanwhile, Sanders is neck and neck with Biden in New Hampshire and led in one of the polls last week there.

Warren 22, Biden 20, Sanders 11, Buttigieg 9, Harris 6

If Biden loses the first two primaries, that will through this whole race into a state of dog-eat-dog chaos. And then Katy, bar the door.

The Democrats in congress are apparently gearing up to vote on a motion to impeach President Trump.

Apparently Tulsi Gabbard is going to vote no.

Quote:
Tulsi Gabbard won't join fellow Democrats' calls for impeachment: It would be 'terribly divisive'

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, said Tuesday she will not join with other House Democrats in supporting the impeachment of President Trump.

The push for impeachment has picked up steam in recent days, including from Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., in response to a whistleblower complaint that reportedly alleged Trump pressured the Ukrainian president to investigate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

Gabbard, who is running for the Democratic presidential nomination in a crowded field, said on "Fox & Friends" that she has been consistent in saying that victory in the 2020 election, not impeachment, is the way for Democrats to make sure Trump leaves office. I believe that impeachment at this juncture would be terribly divisive for the country at a time when we are already extremely divided. The hyperpartisanship is one of the main things driving our country apart," she told host Brian Kilmeade.

Warren takes a narrow lead in two national polls out today:

Quinnipiac
Biden 25, Warren 27, Sanders 16, Buttigieg 7, Harris 3, Yang 2, O'Rourke 2, Booker 0, Klobuchar 2, Castro 2, Gabbard 1, Bennet 1, Delaney 0

Economist/YouGov
Biden 26, Warren 27, Sanders 16, Buttigieg 6, Harris 4, Yang 2, O'Rourke 2, Booker 0, Klobuchar 1, Castro 0, Gabbard 1, Bennet 1, Delaney 1

This Ukraine stuff is another arrow in Joe Biden and it is not helping him. With a substantial part of the establishment media pushing pretty openly for Warren, it should be no surprise to see these two switch places.

It seems like Democrat voters are happy to let the Democrat mass media effectively pick their leaders for them. Go figure.

Tulsi Gabbard will participate in the October debate.

Quote:
Gabbard qualifies for fourth presidential debate

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) became the 12th Democratic presidential candidate to qualify for the party’s October primary debate on Tuesday after a new poll showed her with 2 percent support in New Hampshire.

To qualify for the October debate, candidates have to collect contributions from 130,000 unique donors and register at least 2 percent in four Democratic National Committee-approval polls. Gabbard met the donor benchmark weeks ago but has struggled to notch enough support in a fourth poll to put her over the polling threshold.

That changed on Tuesday after a Monmouth University poll showed the Hawaii congresswoman with 2 percent support among registered New Hampshire Democrats and unaffiliated voters who are likely to vote in the crucial first-in-the-nation primary on Feb. 11.

Warren+Sanders now at 38.7% on RCP. Biden at 29.

It seems very strange to me that Democrats are going so hard after this Ukraine stuff. Shedding light on Ukraine puts Joe Biden at extreme risk.

Could this be a repeat of the DNC knocking out a Democratic primary candidate in 2016?

Actually this help the dems by eliminating any "middle" of the road candidate and allows the democrat party to go full bore left. Essentially the democrat party will become more united under the progressive mantra of the left.

However this will come with a price. The party will be united, but lose some voter support. The 2020 election is more likely a president Trump win. Strategically smart, but the dems lose the house again.
As much as I dislike Nancy Pelosi , shes as good a politician as it gets. The long game is now coming into view.

2024 maybe a political "king tide" for the republicans.

Could go 2 ways: 1) either Biden benefits by getting victim points; or 2) his support further plummets as he his appearance becomes tainted by even having these allegations against him and his son, while Warren by comparison is squeaky clean

Pocohantas is not squeaky clean. I still think somehow Killary gets in the mix.
