Bernie Sanders takes the lead in the RCP Poll average for Nevada, the next state on the primary schedule, which will hold its caucuses a week from tomorrow.

RCP Poll Average - Nevada
21.5 - Sanders
18.5 - Biden
12.0 - Warren
09.5 - Steyer
09.0 - Buttigieg
07.0 - Klobuchar

This poll average has only two polls in it, one from mid January. The more recent poll has Bernie at 25 and Klobuchar at 10, which makes things look a bit different.

I'm bullish on Bloomberg, so my take on his campaign chances are pretty optimistic, but not sure how realistic.

Sanders right now is still the "favorite", but he's still polling only at 20% - 30%, which is about how well he did in the first two contests. That's still well below the combined "moderate lane" numbers of Biden, Buttigieg and Klobuchar. There are also a lot of "undecideds" who are trying to figure out who can beat Trump.

If Bloomberg can start siphoning off that moderate vote with a strong Super Tuesday performance (finishing top 3 or better), I can see his advertising and endorsements pushing those moderates and undecideds into his camp as the primaries continue.

Now, can he finish top 3 on Super Tuesday?

Listening to an interview of longtime liberal NPR pundit Mara Liasson. What I got from her was that the Dems did not have to let Bernie run, because he's not officially a Democrat. But they did because they wanted his coalition of 'Bernie Bros' (in particular young people) in the tent. She called it a 'deal with the devil' that is now coming back to haunt.

If Bernie wins a plurality of delegates and then fails to get the nomination, which appears to be a possibility, there will be a civil war within the party, and perhaps the formation of a new 3rd party (that last is my speculation, not Liasson's).

The Democratic Party is ripe for a split. You have the old school types like Pelosi and Schumer, then you have the new breed like AOC and her fellow clowns.

It isn't a case of minor differences. These people are about as far apart from the old school democrats as they are from the Republicans

Good points. It's possible that this was what impeachment was all about--Nancy's attempt to hold the party together. I could never figure out why she went ahead after her various statements against it.

There have been various speculations as to why the dramatic shift--2020 Senate races, upending Joe Biden, etc. An effort by Nancy to assuage the AOC wing is as good a speculation as any.

Mini is a risky insult by someone who tries to hide his obesity, which is frequently fatal for senior citizens.

Nancy shut up the AOC group. Nancy has FAR more power and influence than that gaggle of new girls.

Bernie is socialist, not a communist. Take time to read some history...

I don’t see anything that intimates Nancy assuaged AOC. I think Nancy simply showed AOC and her group that she (Nancy) was boss. Many Dems wanted Impeachment, not just the “squad.”
