This story is not satire. This is her campaign strategy.
My question about this is always, why no talk of reparations for Asian-Americans?

In some ways, discrimination they suffered was even worse than for blacks. There were efforts by 19th century elected officials to entirely banish them from the US. Blacks got citizenship and voting rights (in theory) shortly after the Civil War with the 14th and 15th Amendments. Asians in many cases were not allowed citizenship until well into the 20th century. There were mob attacks on Asians in the PNW and California.

Why no talk of reparations? Could it be because they are now among the highest-income ethnic groups in the US? And BTW, I heard a pundit say yesterday that married gay men are the highest-income of all.

I think Warren made a severe misstep here, and as of now she is my favorite among the field. This is going to backfire in terms of ID politics. Many black people are going to be offended by this.

It looks like the media campaign promoting Warren at the expense of Biden and Sanders is working with Democrat voters.

Economist/YouGov: Biden 25, Warren 19, Sanders 15, Harris 7, Buttigieg 6

If Biden really is being kicked to the curb and Elizabeth Warren is the new current media favorite, that is to a significant degree because there is no clear, solid moderate Democrat that has the chops to fill that lane right now. (Elizabeth Warren is not even close to being a moderate, and anyone who thinks she is, is just mindlessly spewing media invented nonsense.)

Well, it is not impossible to fix that, those Democrats with moderate tendencies need to start engaging in this process more and they need to start vetting some of the lesser known candidates, a few of who actually do have some moderate tendencies remaining. Apparently one of the leading Democrat opinion leaders in Iowa (The first contest in the primaries - actually a caucus) is doing just that.

Quote:
‘Giant in Iowa politics’ endorses Steve Bullock

Montana Gov. Steve Bullock won’t appear on the debate stage in Miami tonight, but he still notched a high-profile win Wednesday. In an early state that’s critical to his strategy, longtime Story County Democratic chair Jan Bauer told POLITICO she is backing Bullock for president.

The endorsement from Bauer, one of the most recognizable names in Iowa caucus politics, is considered a coup for Bullock. Story County is home to Ames and Iowa State University. “Jan is a giant in Iowa politics. She’s loved across the state and known for being a tireless advocate for her candidates,” said Sean Bagniewski, chairman of the Polk County Democrats in Des Moines. “She’s one of the few people whose endorsement is as important as any of Iowa’s elected officials.”

The Montana governor, who entered the race in mid-May, has already won the endorsement of Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller, one of the most popular Democrats in the state.
This bracket in the contest is not empty, as Biden is supposedly still in it. But as Biden has been casting aside his decades long stances that have made him the favorite as a moderate, his poll numbers have fallen precipitously. This cause and effect reaction should surprise exactly nobody. Combine that with the impression he has left in his few appearances - that he is too old and weak to do this - that has left a gaping hole open for somebody to fill.

Will Governor Bullock fill that gaping hole? It is too soon to tell, but as nature abhors a vacuum, it sure seems to me that somebody will. And that is certainly not going to be Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders, who are competing aggressively at the other end of the ideological spectrum for the support of the activist far left.

Former Senator Claire McKaskill (D-MO) has some advice for Elizabeth Warren.

Quote:
Claire McCaskill urges Warren not to be like annoying 'professor': Be more 'relatable'

"You need to get American comfortable with who you are," McCaskill said while appearing on MSNBC. Former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., were doing well in the polls because people knew who they were, McCaskill added.

The former Democratic senator argued Warren and other candidates should start using humor more and strike a balance between making people comfortable with your policy leadership without boring them with lectures.

"I think you have to swing with the fences with people being comfortable that you are in command of the policy but not so in command of the policy that you're not relatable," she said. "That's Elizabeth's challenge, frankly, sometimes she comes very close to that professor I just wanted to be quiet."
Warren has support on the left because she is a leftist and also because she is a policy wonk. I get the attraction to candidates who have the knowledge and inclination to speak to topics in this way, but this is just one narrow aspect of the role of a presidential candidate, and by no means the most important aspect.

Warren tends to come across as a nagging school marm type. And when you slather that tendency with the Democrat left's "Political correctness" and "Identity politics" agenda - which come across as strident and intolerant, to say the least - it really is not a very attractive presentation.

We have spoken a good bit about her epic failure to appropriate a new "race" for herself. While that is surely not going to help her any, this tendency that Claire McKaskill is advising her about is almost certainly her bigger concern.

The first of the presidential primary debates start tonight in Miami. How fortunate that the apparent current media favorite Elizabeth Warren goes first and was drawn a panel with no other candidates polling in the top five for her to be concerned with. What good luck she has!

According to Democrat strategist and pollster, Warren is in a great position to dominate tonight:
First Of Two Democratic Primary Debates Set To Kick Off In Miami

Which candidates appear on stage each night was chosen at random. Only one of tonight’s participants has consistently polled in the top five.

“I think Elizabeth Warren will have an advantage because she’s the only one of the so-called major candidates that’s going to be on the night one panel,” said Brad Bannon, Democratic pollster and strategist. “And so she has a chance to dominate.”

I love it when right-wingers post their "analysis" of Democratic candidates. The biased cluelessness gives me a chuckle.

We liberals will pick our own candidate, thank you very much. No outside help needed.

There is a Media conflict (feces storm) coming. Comcast who owns NBC, and MSNBC is financially backing and supporting Joe Biden. They hosted his campaign kick off fund raiser, and raising money for him as well as contributing their own. If it is true that other networks like CNN, ABC (Disney), CBS, PBS, etc are pushing Warren or Bernie, then there is going to be a war within the Media and therefore the Democrat Party. This should be interesting.

Brian Roberts vs Bob Igor?

Ha. If you want your “candidate” to get elected you’ll need a whole bunch of outside help. LOL

President Trump is having great success in fundraising off of the backdrop of the primary contest for the Democrats.
Trump raises eye-popping $36 million in the week buildup to first 2020 Democratic debates

President Donald Trump raised a mammoth $36 million since officially announcing his 2020 relection campaign reelection last week.

Trump’s seven-day haul is double the entire first-quarter fundraising total for Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont , whose $18 million led the field of two dozen Democratic presidential hopefuls.

At a donor event on Tuesday at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, the president raised $6 million with 225 people in attendance in support of his joint fundraising committee, according to Republican officials with direct knowledge of the matter.
