Oh please. He's a self made successful businessman. You don't get that far up the chain without dealing with direct assertiveness.
Already out there trying to trash talk this guy eh? The left is scared of him.
Good.
I think we've had enough of people giving up their principles to become politicians. If he's good, it won't matter if he runs Independent - he could still win.
Remember when they said Trump couldn't win. There was no path, "he's a clown", "no one supports him" he had what...16 other people in the Republican party to beat out just to get to the point of being the nominee...don't ever say "never".
I didn't say impossible. I said difficult, and I stand by that. Our current system is not friendly to independent or third-party candidates.
I doubt I would vote for him, based on what I have heard so far, but honestly, other than "I don't like Trump," and "I don't like the Democrats," I haven't heard much, at least in terms of actual policy.
Schultz, you likely know, is past head of Starbucks, and is toying with the idea of running for president. He had a book event at Barnes & Noble at Union Square (standing room only, based on the photograph), and someone in the audience yelled out - well, I can't print it here, but you can check out the link.
Here's the thing: Schultz has said he absolutely does not want to see Trump re-elected. He has also said he does not support the Democratic party as it exists today.
I guess my question, at this point, would be this: if he wants Trump gone, why does he not either run against him as a moderate Republican, or run as a moderate Democrat, and try to nudge the Dems closer to the center?
There are many reasons it would be difficult for an independent to actually get to the White House, and right now, it seems like the most he could hope for is to be a spoiler. Who gets spoiled is up for debate, but either way, it's not likely to result in a more centrist POTUS.
So?
Why do you think I would have a problem with him posing a challenge to Trump? I believe that ANY citizen, who has met the conditions in the US Constitution, has a right to run for President.

He cannot run as a Republican at all unless he beats Trump in the primary. After that, his options would be beat out other Democrats in the primary or run as a third-party candidate and almost assuredly siphon enough votes from the Democratic candidate to ensure a second term of Trump.
Clinton Operatives Targeting This Presidential Candidate
...According to The Daily Wire:
Just a day after announcing that he was strongly considering a presidential run as an independent in 2020, former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz was greeted by a protester at a campaign-style event who wanted him to know that he was an "egotistical billionaire a**hole" who was going to get Donald Trump re-elected. By Wednesday, former Hillary Clinton operatives had already launched an effort to organize more disruptions and protests targeting the not-radical-enough Schultz...

I don't want to see the Democrats move toward the middle, Nothing better than seeing Liz Warren and Kamala argue about who's the most far left. It will end in disaster ...lol

Hillary won't announce until the spring. This clown circus is going to be fun to watch.
