Schultz, you likely know, is past head of Starbucks, and is toying with the idea of running for president. He had a book event at Barnes & Noble at Union Square (standing room only, based on the photograph), and someone in the audience yelled out - well, I can't print it here, but you can check out the link.
The democratic race is about who can go furthest to the left right now. It’s about being unhinged, about saying the nastiest things to get trump out.
Here comes Schultz and he has centrist ideas that make sense to a silent majority. For example, he doesn’t stand for eliminating private insurance - most people are happy with their plans. If this makes Democrats nervous then by all means please run.

Yes, I agree! I dont' think socialism is a good idea at all.
That deranged Democrat and Morning Joe instantly gave Shultz a national platform. i.e. It backfired spectacularly in their faces. I love it.
Democrats sure hate Democracy.
Are you willing to listen?
Here's the thing: Schultz has said he absolutely does not want to see Trump re-elected. He has also said he does not support the Democratic party as it exists today.
I guess my question, at this point, would be this: if he wants Trump gone, why does he not either run against him as a moderate Republican, or run as a moderate Democrat, and try to nudge the Dems closer to the center?
There are many reasons it would be difficult for an independent to actually get to the White House, and right now, it seems like the most he could hope for is to be a spoiler. Who gets spoiled is up for debate, but either way, it's not likely to result in a more centrist POTUS.

If he still lives in Washington (Seattle being renown for nice people), the direct assertiveness of New Yorkers must have taken him by surprise.
Oh please. He's a self made successful businessman. You don't get that far up the chain without dealing with direct assertiveness.
Already out there trying to trash talk this guy eh? The left is scared of him.
Good.

I think we've had enough of people giving up their principles to become politicians. If he's good, it won't matter if he runs Independent - he could still win.
Remember when they said Trump couldn't win. There was no path, "he's a clown", "no one supports him" he had what...16 other people in the Republican party to beat out just to get to the point of being the nominee...don't ever say "never".
When the former CEO of Starbucks announces he will be running for the next POTUS election, one does wonder how much controversy will BREW from that.
