There us a lot of difference between how Biden comes across and Trump. Trump is not necessarily a polished speaker but he holds people's interest. Biden is boring, more so than years past and just is showing his age.

Latest poll -- Econ/YouGov

Biden 22%
Warren 17%
Harris 14%
Sanders 11%

or, the way I read it,

Progressives 42%
Centrists 22%

That's the way a lot of Democrats are heading now. Clinton's Republican-Lite policies have not worked out well for the party, and a lot of Democrats believe it's now time to give them up and go back to being openly progressive.

IF Centrism is preserving the status quo, fewer Democrats are interested in that than they once were in the late 20th century.

What's the point of electing a Democrat who is so conservative he's nothing but a Republican, except in name only? The voters know the difference, so if they want a conservative, they'll vote for a Republican.

And the Republicans are all about preserving the status quo. They make no bones about it.

Harris is no Progressive. She's a Bill Clinton New Democrat just like Biden. She and Biden are going to fight like cats & dogs over the Black vote in the South. Because in the end, that's what won Hillary the nomination in 2016 over Sanders. So.....

New Democrats (what you call "centrists") = 36%
Progressives = 28%

How silly. There was nothing about Trump's win of the nomination and presidency by "preserving the status quo".

Some people find boring more acceptable than bat s**t crazy. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Trump holds people's interest because they are laughing at him and waiting for the next bizarre comment.

Harris is certainly a progressive. Not as far left as Warren, but still progressive. From Kamala's web site:

-- supports Medicare For All.
-- supports $15/hr living wage
-- supports elements of the Green New Deal

She sounds very proggy to me.

Rather have new Centrism if that makes any sense. Candidate that is not attached to the Democratic Party, businesses, or lobbyist. Wants to reform financing and work towards having lobbyist out of Congress.

Wants to reform taxes, education, higher education funding, student loans, public option healthcare, protect the U.S., work more with NATO, new environmental policies, limit Federal Government reach/more balance with State power, and so forth.
