If those so-called "moderate" Democrats are ever going to establish themselves as a rational alternative to traditionalist Republican senility, they are going to have to separate themselves from, and demonstrate their opposition to the likes of Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez, Warren, Waters and all the rest of the societal detritus whom many of us view as a threat to the American way of life.

Outside of a few ideologues, I don't think there are many of us left over here on the right side of the aisle who advocate a return to a complete laissez-faire economy, and despite the oversimplified paranoia by a few here, the same applies to the Bible-thumpers. But the Peoples Republic of California has degenerated into a textbook case of identity politics and Political Correctness gone completely mad, and if there is no enough reasoning left out there to rein it in, then let's just allow it to collapse under the weight of its own stupidity -- same as Venezuela. Then, hopefully, the 90 percent of us who never subscribed to the insanity can clean up the mess together,

You're entitled to your opinion, but you're wrong.

No other candidate strikes alongside workers (see the Nissan employees in Mississippi, McDonald's workers, pressuring Amazon/Disney to raise their minimum wage, etc.), fights alongside protesters (Standing Rock), crashes shareholder meetings to attack wealthy executives/shareholders, sacrificed their career progression and income growth (he was literally one of the few congressman that wasn't a millionaire until he wrote a book), etc.

And if those other candidates do, it's only because they're copy cats and are pandering (see Kamala Harris suddenly joining in protest with McDonald's workers only after Bernie did so first).

How well has the status quo (or whatever BS label you want to use, "incrementalism," "pragmatism," etc.) worked with addressing the historically cost of education, the historically high cost of health care, historically high wealth inequality, etc.?
So in your view there's no difference between Trump and a centrist like Joe Biden?

Why would people inclined to vote for Republicans settle for Republican-lites when they can have the real deal Republicans?

How well did that work out in 2016?

Again, in one of the poorest states in the union, instead of discussing how to improve the lives of every day Americans, they're discussing ways to thwart the one candidate that has spent their entire life fighting trying to protect our most vulnerable people.

It doesn't get more morally reprehensible than that.

So, if somebody in South Carolina has a meeting on what color the fire hydrants in town should be painted, does that mean they're being reprehensible because they aren't discussing how to improve the lives of everyday Americans?

Take away the balloon that "3-homes" combs his hair with and you have a start.

How much more could one even do to alienate progs at this point than the 2016 primary?
You're not going to vote Trump so...basically you're going to get lip service at best.

Sanders, having to endorse Hillary with her knife still between his shoulders because the alternative was Trump....was truly a sight to behold.

In retrospect, it would have been glorious if he'd just reamed the DNC for their acts and the screw job they delivered to what is a fairly large portion of the Democratic base.

But again, of the two candidates at that point he was at least smart enough to recognize Trump as a threat even if Hillary was already planning her victory party.

I don't know if I would be considered a Moderate Democrat. I do feel both the Left and Right have lost touch with the American people. With that said they also gerrymander to certain populations and groups within America only focus on those issues not the whole picture.

I plan on voting for Bennett come Primary time. I feel he has a whole view point on American issues. Focused on reigning in politics. Will be able to reach across the aisle. Has a pragmatic and realistic approach to various political policies.

Are you a millennial, by any chance? You seem quite ignorant of history.

We got rid of exclusions due to preexisting conditions and more coverage of the uninsured because of Obamacare, not because of nutty "Medicare For All" proposals and single-payer and so forth. You don't live the real world. How are you going to get these proposals past a Republican Senate? Oh, that's right, if we nominate enough "progressives," we'll take back control of the Senate! Yes, in places like the rural Midwest, the Deep South, the Rocky Mountain States, the winning ticket is candidates who want to eliminate private health insurance, more limits on guns, abortion at all points in a pregnancy for any reason whatsoever and for more rights and subsidies for illegal aliens. Thatsa winna!

Again, as I grow older, I have less and less patience for ideologues who live in Fantasyland where we don't have to compromise to improve society.
