California's economy is No. 5 in the world. The rust belt and the south are lagging economically. They could learn from California.
As Mitt Romney proved- being correct is not a substitute for familiarity. And to be honest, growing personal wealth is not the same as governing. And his background will literally open him up to questioning on every single company he gave funds.
I also think his main goal being to impeach Trump won't play well. Voters want someone who will impact their situation, even the ones who hate Trump.
Tom Steyer is billionaire hedge fund manager, environmentalist, liberal activist, and fundraiser. Steyer has been leading and pumping millions of dollars into Need to Impeach and NextGen America and has also been disappointed that House Democrats haven’t moved more quickly in holding impeachment hearings.
That's right, this is the guy who went on a crusade to convince Democrats to impeach Trump.
If he runs and drops $100 plus million of his money on ads, he might influence the debate on impeachment, global warming, etc. I think he has done as much as he can on those issues without being a candidate and is dissatisfied with the results. He can be a candidate and see if it changes the results. Probably not.

He's a hypocrite.
He made a lot of money on coal and other 'dirty' investments, and then became something of a climate change evangelist, but he didn't relinquish all the profits from those investments, and he still owns at least two residences.

Meh. Sounds a lot like the guy in the White House now to me. If hypocrisy ruled our voting, Trump would have never been elected.
Or Obama, according to a lot of Republicans.
Personally, I think the limits of how much hypocrisy we swallow really depends on how badly we want to **** off some other voter we know instead of casting a vote for the regular old reasons.

I'm neither a Republican nor a Democrat, and I don't like and didn't vote for both Trump and Hillary.
I just don't like Steyer.
