A poll out today shows that, as of now and this can change between now and the election, my argument on this forum that Biden is best positioned to rebuild the Obama and Clinton coalitions of 1992, 1996, 2008, and 2012 is an accurate argument.

The poll: https://nypost.com/2019/07/14/biden-...-in-2020-poll/

My argument has been that maximizing turnout amongst black voters, winning enough white working-class rural voters, and gaining the support of independents is key to the Democrats victory. This poll shows Biden is strongest with independent voters, which helps him perform best in the poll.

Biden also has a commanding lead with black voters in the Democratic primary:

They all could defeat Trump if Vladimir Putin doesn't interfere in the 2020 election.

Trump is going to accuse any of them as being Socialists, and with the worst images of Venezuela being shown, he'll cry: Is this what you want for this country? And? He wins, out of fear! That's a mighty scary word yet for Americans to digest!

All they would have to do is demonstrate a socialist country that has an economy that exceeds the US under Trump and I might even vote for one of them. I'm not worried.

Yeah, I wish Klobuchar would stand a pretty good chance of beating Trump. Unfortunately I think she is being held back by couple factors:
1) moderation isn't really an exciting way to rally voters
2) she is a fine speaker, but not particularly charismatic
3) she doesn't meet the "central casting test". I can't prove it for sure, but I suspect she would be getting more buzz as younger pragmatic alternative to Biden if she were a man. Dems are still traumatized by Hillary's loss.
4) she doesn't have a clear appeal to minority voters.

I agree a moderate candidate is a safer way to go. Moderate candidates can appeal to swing voters and Trump's racism will fire up the liberals.

But I'm not sure why they have to be white? The candidate to have received the most votes in history is a black man with a Muslim name.

As much as I dislike Bredesen, I could agree with this.

The group that is running right now leaves quite a bit to be desired. Because of many of their stances, I don't see many of them making it far and the one who does win the nomination, I don't see them winning right now.

He might make a more interesting candidate than many others currently running.

He ran on opposition to a state income tax, then tried to put one in. When that didn't fly, he cut services to Tenncare, saying the state couldn't afford to pay it without a tax increase. Shocking .... a Democrat who actually says you must have money to pay for all this "free" stuff.

She'd have my vote.

It's called propaganda and being used to sway your vote.
The very same was done in 2016 regarding Hillary and that it would be an easy win for her.
They kept pushing that point even when some questionable tactics were used during the primaries and debates to keep Hillary "on top". But then the general election came and we got "shock and awe".

So we're getting it again but this time they aren't pushing any particular candidate....just "Trump is done".

Kinda raises a flag with me. We never had to worry about the Russians; our worry should be our own MSM.
