I assume the 3 top candidates are Biden, Sanders or Warren.....

I personally think that Sanders would be the easiest to beat. At this point....

I think you are underestimating Sanders. For one, Sanders of the three you listed has the largest and most energized base who will show up to the polls at a higher rate. Then there are the other democrats who will vote democrat no matter what. And then there are the Bernie bros who voted for Trump to spite Hillary who will be more than happy to vote for Sanders. Remember that Hillary lost the Midwest states, it so happens that she also lost them to Sanders in the primaries too. Sanders is as much of a populist as Trump is, and even more so since he actually has some credibility since his positions have been the same for the past 30 or so years, whereas Trump flipflops around every 2 seconds and is more preoccupied with his own ego than serving the people who elected him. Trump can still beat him, but of the three you listed Sanders will be the hardest to beat in my opinion. Biden is known for shooting himself in the foot so to speak, and Trump will have an easy time pushing Warren's buttons as the Pocahontas scandal proved.

That being said of all the democrat candidates, Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang will be the hardest to beat if they are able to win the primaries since they have the most wide spread appeal including liberal, conservatives, independents progressives and libertarians. And of these two Tulsi has the best chance of building a cross party coalition that focuses on taking down the military industrial complex as that idea is not very controversial and non partisan.

I may sometimes look like a conservative, although I don't see much of a future for capitalism or socialism. I like Gabbard for 2024, after the Dems get dopeslapped back to reality.

I'm not a conservative -- I'm a moderate who very slightly leans conservative, but can't stand Trump -- but if the conservatives want to ensure a Trump victory, they should nominate either Harris or any of the current front-runners (Biden, Sanders and Warren) who are all, imo, extreme leftists. About a third of the country are moderate, and from what I have read, given a choice between Trump and one of the top three current Dem contenders, most will hold their noses and vote for Trump.

I think that Harris would be the easiest to beat (by far), with Sanders, Biden and Warren tied for "runner up". They are all terrible to most moderates, I think.

Meh.
Most of us thing we are 'very slightly' conservative or liberal. I include myself in that.

It only is something that gives us some comfort when faced with hard political decisions.

Any time my view prevails, it's a very nice feeling to think it is moderate.

But any time my view fails, the other view is always too extreme.

So i take it you don't believe all the polls showing Biden beating Trump? I don't blame you; we all learned not to trust polls in 2016. But I'm surprised you call Biden an extreme leftist, as he is presented as the moderate alternative to Warren and Sanders.

I do not think Biden is anywhere as liberal as you. And having Omar, AOC and company publicly complain about him will by some cred. What Biden has in his favor more than pure ideology is that he is a good fit for the Rustbelt states Dems most need to win back- even Trumps pollsters have him opening up a big lead in PA. I think he also has a better chance of winnowing away votes in NC, Ga, and Az. I think Warren might to better in the popular vote because she would energize the base more- but driving out additional voters in Massachusetts or California is really of no benefit in the electoral college. I'm also not sure how she would fare in the Sunbelt. Bernie will be a hard not for flipping any new states. And he really does not fit the profile of the Dems who have been successful in Wi, Mi, and Pa.

Frankly, it doesn't matter who the Dems lead to slaughter, but Warren would be the most fun to watch in the debates.
