My support for Bernie Sanders has nothing to do with socialism. It has everything to do with the fact that he's the most sane out of the Democratic candidates, and he's much more sane than Trump. I'm not looking for free "anything". I'm looking for someone who isn't Biden, Trump, or Bloomberg.
Many of my younger employees can't believe the difference between their Gross and Net pay that they actually take home. They come to me complaining that there must be a mistake with their paycheck.
I walk them through the SS/Medicare, their health insurance, and then Federal, State, and Local Income Taxes. They get this weird look in their eyes as they realize what has happened, and not all the "stuff" they've been promised is "FREE".
I have such a hard time believing this. I'm not saying you are lying though. Most high school and college students have summer jobs so they know what a paycheck is. Is this their first job or something, working for you.

Sure sounds like a made up story from start to end.
I always laugh when someone asks a college student that if they had a 4.0 GPA would they give a fellow student with a 2.0 average a point so they’d have a 3.0? Most were incredulous and said no. Lol It’s cool when it’s someone else’s money, but not theirs.

I have never heard of anyone asking that. Why would they? I think some of you are just making stuff up lol
Yep. The first SS recipient paid $22.88 in SS payroll taxes. She received $22,888.92 in SS benefits.
Those 65 and older in 1965 enrolled in Medicare and received benefits without paying a dime. It took the payroll taxes paid by the baby boom generation and general revenues to put the Great Depression era retirees through the paces.
You might recall as the Tea Party Movement peaked, those cute old geezers sitting in rooms with tea bags dangling from their golf caps, with signs that read “ don’t take my SS / Medicare”.
Frank, how might you react if a Congress majority voted in favor of ending SS and Medicare with NO REFUNDS of prior payroll taxes to people and their employers? You know- just pull the plug.
I love youtube. I get lost in it watching music videos and of course animal videos. One person complaining and preaching has no interest to me.
