This is a blowout in a solid clinton district. Republicans winning in wisconsin too. Is this a backlash against Democrat shutdown of the economy? thoughts?

More likely a backlash against Democrats being lying, belligerent, duplicitous, worthless scum whose only interest seems to be destroying anyone and everyone who doesn't fall into line behind them and mindlessly obey, while simultaneously screaming to no end that it's everybody else doing that and not them.

In my humble opinion.

Just wait until the Democrats impose their endless lockdowns. Hopefully the blue states are still in lockdown in November. If they are, the Democrats will be wiped out nationally, even in the usual deep blue hellholes.

Don't whitewash it, tell us what you really think. I would not read to much into this special election. It was Republican district for decades...

Dang! This is a surprise.

Folks in CA may realize some areas need a change from the blue way of things, back to red.

A change can be good--maybe it's time this district turned red in a heavily blue state.

You know, I hadn't thought about that. If many Democrat heavy states are imposing lockdowns still by late summer, and restrictions are still not lifted by Oct/Nov, their plan may backfire and cause folks to vote Republican.

Wouldn't that be a shock to them, when they thought the virus would hurt Republicans, politically.

Governors had better rethink acting like despots. Not only will business owners and working people remember the damage they caused but nobody likes having their freedom and human rights trampled. Nobody other than the far left want to live in a police state.
