You have to remember how our Electoral College works. The moment the primary for your state is over, unless you are in a swing state, you went see or hear from that candidate again. They focus all their time, money and other resources on a few states.

If you live in FL, NC, PA, WI, OH, AZ or NH - you'll probably see many ads for Trump or Biden. In many other states, you MIGHT see ads by those candidates but they are mainly supporting someone for Congress. Like, I expect to see Biden release an ad for Harrison who is running against Lindsey Graham for his Senate seat in SC.

Trump might do some work for Tillis in NC as well.

But generally speaking, what I see in my city in SC is mostly ads for a congressional seat (House and Senate) and that's about it. Trump won't come here. Biden won't come here. The same is true in about 40 other states. We are forgotten about the moment primary season is over.

I live in Illinois close to the Wisconsin border, and I get Madison broadcast feeds. Biden commercials are plentiful. You must not be in or near a swing state.

Didn't Hillary outraise Trump by a wide margin in 2016?

If so, then tell me why any of this matters?

1. Trump won the electoral college by strategically winning several states by razor thin margins.
2. Increased turn out in this election will make those strategic wins for Trump almost an impossibility, which is why his campaign has been fighting any election accommodations that will increase voter participation. He has already admitted to this.
3. Of the 360+ million dollars in August donations, 200+ million came from first-time donors (1.5 million) and small-dollar donors. These speak to a level of enthusiasm amongst Democrats not seen before (really in any party). Compared to Clinton who raised $160 million, Biden already exceeded her level of monetary support just from donating individual voters ALONE. This is huge. HUGE. :-)

The other big difference between Clinton and Biden is that she was having to help drag the DNC out of a financial hole. Obama pretty much let it whither on the vine and used his own outside organization to run/funnel $ to his campaigns.

The national party has been rebuilding the last several years so it is now sufficient on its own. This means any $ Biden Harris can raise will go further. He also has the advantage of many of the swing state Dems raising huge amounts on their own. This will mean they are working on getting voter outreach and advertisement in additional to any money the campaign or national party have to spend.

So what? Like mentioned, Hillary outspent Trump 2-1. Money isn’t everything

It was beautiful to see all of that money go down the drain in Hillary's failed 2016 attempt
