If Trump loses and is a lame duck and Congress is Democratic how does Congress get anything done as far as a stimulus plan since Trump has no reason to sign a Congress approved package. Trump won't like sitting in the White House for over two months with no power.

That's what I don't get. Why is he holding the stimulus hostage until after his presumed reelection? The entire premise of the SCOTUS nomination is that he was elected President for four years and it is within his power to do so for those four years. (Nevermind that Obama wasn't afforded this privilege). But, somehow, a stimulus package for a far more urgent matter than the SCOTUS nomination has to sit on the back burner?

If you want to claim you were elected to govern for four years, than govern for four years instead of cherry picking what you want to govern to your benefit. Especially when it was perfectly fine to have a 4-4 SCOTUS for 13 months in 2016-2017.

IMO Trump made a big mistake because now he is being blamed for blocking the stimulus package. Where he could have just left it to GOP in the senate tie it up past the election. I'm betting he came up with this idea himself without much thought, or advice from others. Now he is trying to damage control it after speaking to advisers. Just like the debate where he said "stand back and stand by" the next day he is damage controlling again. At this point Biden has this rapped up even Ted Cruz is admitting going to be a "devastating" for the GOP.

I suspect Trump will capitulate on stimulus and release $2 trillion or more before election day. It would net him at least one percent nationally at the polls, and it would help Republicans retain control of the senate. If he personally loses, though, and it looks like he probably will, he will unleash his fury on democrat-leaning institutions and low income minorities. His vengeful, vindictive qualities will take center stage.

What can he do to deliver lasting damage to programs like SNAP (food assistance), Planned Parenthood, NPR/PBS, Head Start and Medicaid? Can he pave the way for swift and immediate evictions? Tightening or eliminating of unemployment benefits? Curtailing funding for assistance of refugees at the border, neglected children and battered wives? Cut all Federal dollars for California, New York, Vermont and Massachusetts?
