Biden was in Senate for 36 years. Chair of Judiciary and Foreign Relations Committee at different times. VP for 8 years.

Like and / or dislike some of his policy views, he has more federal experience than any candidate in history. Fwiw to you. That is probably the thing I like best about his candidacy in these times.

Lots of experience with little to no positive results for the average American citizen.

Nearly 50 years in government, and I cannot name one accomplishment, other than a crime bill everyone thinks is a mistake and the ACA which raised everyone's premiums.

Worst thing about Biden, is that him and Harris are just career politicians who don't seem to appreciate basic economics because they've never themselves participated in the private economy.

What makes anything think that 8 MORE years of Biden would yield anything more than all talk?

Telling. To many, THAT'S WHAT THEY LIKE THE LEAST!

Career politicians are right up there with lawyers, used car salesmen, and prostitutes as the least respected professions there are!

If you don't see much or anything that the federal goverment has done alright, good or very well in 44 years, I am probably not going to change your mind.

I see some gains for women and minorities inclusion and rights, some improvements in environmental standards for cleaner air, water and energy, tons of spinoffs from federally funded research in many fields including medical, help with higher education for several highly productive generations, winning cold war without nuclear disaster, facilitating the start of the internet revolution, getting out of many recessions including several severe ones, easier access to home ownership, saving what's left of the auto industry, expanding export markets, getting tougher on serious crime, financial support for many small businesses, buildout and maintenance of interstate highways and airports, multi-use management and preservation of public lands, ongoing basic support for probably more than a 100 million seniors and disabled, etc.

24 years under Republican Presidents, 20 under Democratic Presidents. Assign credit and blame to both as you will.

" Every single morning since I've been 27 years old, I've got up and someone's handed me a card like the one I have in my pocket with the schedule on it, of all the things I'm gonna do. I don't know what to do if I didn't have that card. "

Ding, ding, ding.

You are having a discussion with a crowd that is mostly working with low levels of information and probably couldn't name five major things the federal government has done over the last few decades.

It's sort of funny: When Trump, the POTUS, couldn't get Obamacare repealed, it was because Congress wouldn't cooperate. Yet, somehow Biden as a lone Senator is somehow expected to have singlehandedly solved all of the world's problems.

I can get health insurance now because of Obamacare. I couldn't before. Because of that freedom, I have started a business that now employs almost forty people. I wouldn't have had the flexibility to pursue entrepreneurship before Obamacare because I couldn't get health insurance unless I worked for an employer that offered a group plan.

Are there any grand or great grandkids of Calvin Coolidge or Herbert Hoover that the Republicans could run in the name of limited federal government? Would you really want to repeal most or all of what the federal goverment has done in last 44 years? I know some will say yes. I don't think the majority would if they reflected on all that entails.

Or will it be more Trump and Bush kids in coming elections? Plenty has and could be said about their dad's priorities, degree of competency and accomplishments / failures. But I didnt intend to go into that in this thread. Just one short, late, probably last from me plug for one of the current choices.
