I voted for Mitt Romney in 2012 and was a John Kasich supporter in 2016. But I guess because I voted against Trump in 2016 and 2020 and I don't go along with the voter fraud conspiracy, I am considered to be a brainwashed leftist?

All the way from the clever rantings of Limbaugh on talk radio through the emergence of Fox News after the Fairness Doctrine was abolished, through the weaponization of the Internet by the alt-Right, which we observe right here on C-D.
You are right, it is the same sort of mentality that a "never landed on the moon" or an anti-vaxxer or a Jim Jones cultist might have. But at the end of the day it is far more dangerous, as our Constitutional Republic is dependent on having a rational citizenry.

That is probably the best metaphor out there.
I remember when the moon landing hoax was still a thing (is it?) and a guy named Phil Plait went out of his way to debunk each and every major conspiracy claim. The thing is, a lot of these claims boiled down to ignorance. "Why was the flag waving on the moon when there's no wind to make it wave?" The flag wasn't waving. It was a still photo (how can it be moving in a still photo?). The flag was ruffled while it was stood up and without wind, there was nothing to change the look of it.
What we are seeing today is pretty much the same thing. Believers see some guy unloading boxes from his truck and it is fraudulent ballots coming in from some foreign nation when it turns out the boxes were filled with a photographer's equipment or sandwiches from a deli.
Believers read some story about some guy that died 10 years ago and apparently voted in 2020 and see that as proof that 10M+ ballots must be fraudulent. It could be a guy with the same name happens to be voting. Or the guy's son who left off "junior" since he doesn't want to be called that - so it appears he has the same name. Or in this case, the wife of the dead man votes and signs her name Mrs. James Smith.
They see what they want to see.
I think what IS very telling is an interview I saw last week. A Trump supporter was asked how he'd feel if he was lied to about election fraud and he responded, "I'd never vote for a Republican ever again." And the thing is, I bet many fraud believers would say the same thing. Republican politicans and surrogates are in too deep to back out now. Even with clear evidence that the election was NOT fraudulent, they just refuse to believe it. They grasp onto whatever they can and when Republican politicians keep claiming that the election was fraudulent it gives that notion credibility.
But, don't forget that when these same Republican politicians (Senators and House Reps) are asked if THEIR election was fraudulent and should have another recount or a re-vote... they say NO. That's all you need to hear. Their election was perfectly legit. The ballots that elected them, the very same pieces of paper that selected them were fine, but not for President. If anything, I feel bad for those still stuck in denial. It is going to be a dark place for a long time for them.
There was no widespread fraud. Every court and state along with the federal Dept of Justice and other agencies looked into these allegations and found them to have little credence and merit. These allegations are nothing more than talk and hearsay. Joe Biden was overwhelmingly elected president in a fair election. Those that do not accept this reality are living in a fantasy world.
In spite of lots of evidence that there was election fraud and some of it even on video, and that the people who told you there was no election fraud were the same people who lied to you for years about Russian collusion and Ukraine phone calls...we know that the Biden family got rich off of their dealings with China and Russia and Ukraine, that the Clintons got rich off their phony foundation and it's beyond obvious that no one showed up at rallies for Biden or could possibly support him because he has obvious dementia, we are supposed to believe there was no election fraud and that this imbecile who plagiarized many times actually won?
Never. Most of them still believe in the Russia collusion hoax.
Hey OP...you don't think this is anything new, do you? Why do you think the city machine systems exist? It might not be Tamannay Hall or King Daley days....but expecting a difference is the only real shocker.
The mail in ballots allow it to exist on a whole 'nother plane.
