Heiress and drug addict Cindy McCain has recently stated that she would not release her tax returns...even if she becomes first lady. Remember, she files separately from John. The DNC has decided to jump on this, noting how Cindy McCain's wealth has benefited her husband's political career. For example, husband John McCain, when his campaign was struggling with money, was able to use a corporate jet owned by a private company headed by Cindy. Who knows in what capacity John has been using Cindy's millions.
DNC chairman Howard Dean had this to say:
Quote:
"John McCain may not like it, but the American people have a right to know about the well documented links between his political career and the McCains' business ventures, John McCain's refusal to meet the standard of every other candidate seeking the office is one more reason he's the wrong choice for America's future."

Would this be the same DNC that completely excused Theresa Heinz not releasing her tax returns during her husband run for president?
Her millions are helping John McCain, perhaps in violation of Federal election law.
Hillary just pumped her OWN money into her campaign - to the tune of what - $5.6 M or so? And isn't this the second time she has done that?
And anyone remember how Kerry said he was selling a painting his wife had "given him" - what was that amount - $3.8 M or so?
Who cares. As long as it is family money, do you really care if someone spends it on a campaign? Mitt Romney sank his $$ into his campaign - as did John Edwards.
This is a red herring. Geeezz. Pretty transparent. No laws have been violated. And I really think the American public is not this childish to give a rat's ass. We are not talking about taking bribes from some Arab Sheik here.

Every candidate running for public office must obey the relevant election laws. You can hem and haw all you like, but until Cindy McCain releases those returns, how do we know that John McCain is doing exactly that?
The millions that Cindy has access to could be used by John McCain for any number of nefarious purposes. All the DNC is asking for is a little transparency, I don't think that's too much to ask from Mr. Straight Talk Express.

Cindy McCain IS running for office. She campaigns for him and arranges fundraisers. She needs to open up those returns so we can se the money trial. And Hillary needs to open up the donors list for the Clinton Centre so we can see who is on that too.
