I was brought up to think education was a good thing! The Republicans complain how the poor education system in the US is the ruination of our country, yet when people graduate from non government schools, they are now somehow elitist and evil. As far as I am concerned, I watched the men in my family come home exhausted, some died of industry related illnesses, and they never ever wanted that future for their family, so they worked hard so we could be professionals and not have to risk our lives for a company everyday. I am proud of the work the men in my family did for us, but I certainly am honoring their wishes and continuing my education.
